@kaweesamark77 You don't want a country where the criminal justice system is based on empathy or Ubuntu. Putting into context granting waiswa bail bcz he lost a loved one is injustice to many other prisoners who lost children and parents but never been allowed to go and bury them

Law is Law but Ubuntu is our African DNA Most of our legal frameworks are foreign and we really need to respect the law but when did we reach the extent of abandoning African humanity at the expenses of foreign imposed laws. Surely law without humanity is injustice

@destine_osteen Among the considerations for bail. There's no empathy, a person is only entitled if they meet the qualifications not becz they lost a loved one. Empathy doesn't superceed the law

UPDATE: Kawempe Chief Magistrate’s Court has denied Waiswa Mufumbiro, the National Unity Platform deputy spokesperson, temporary bail to attend the burial of his wife, Edith Katende Mufumbiro, who died early Wednesday after a long illness. Mr Mufumbiro remains in detention since last year and is yet to be committed to the High Court for trial.
