@aonanuga1956 It is surprising that the president is shocked at Major General Rabe’s death. Globally, captured military personnel retired or serving rarely make it out alive. Dens of kidnapers and terrorist are not vacation resorts. Sir bomb the hell out of this guys.

STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE PRESIDENT TINUBU EXPRESSES SADNESS OVER THE DEATH OF RETIRED MAJOR-GENERAL ABUBAKAR, CONDOLES WITH THE FAMILY President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed shock over the death of retired Major-General Rabe Abubakar while in the custody of terrorists in Katsina State.   General Abubakar, after a distinguished career in the military, retired a few years ago. He was on his way to his hometown when the hoodlums captured him   The President commiserated with his family, especially his wife, who is still being held against her will by the captors.   He also extended his condolences to the Katsina State government and the armed forces.   While the terrorists have done their worst, the President wants them to know that the government will never bow to their demand to release their members held by our security agencies.   As I said on June 12: “Bandits, kidnappers, and sponsors of terror should now surrender or face the full force of the Nigerian State. These windows of surrender will not remain open forever. And no mercy will be shown to those who trade in the blood of Nigerians.   “As Nigerians,  we must stand united and be assured that the enemies of our nation shall soon be history. We will triumph over terror and continue to build a more prosperous nation.   “General Abubakar’s death should further serve as a defining moment in our battle against terrorists and insurgents, never to negotiate with them on any terms, but to continue to treat them as the greatest enemies of our dear nation, who should never be spared.”   Bayo Onanuga Special Adviser to the President, (Information & Strategy) June 13, 2024

@DHQNigeria This press release is weak. It tells the killers of retired Major General Rabe nothing. It promises his family nothing. Statements like this belong to religious groups, not to Defense Headquarters. If Defense Headquarters can’t act tough, at least talk tough.

PRESS RELEASE DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS MOURNS THE PASSING OF RETIRED MAJOR GENERAL RABE ABUBAKAR, REAFFIRMS RESOLVE TO ERADICATE TERRORISM The Defence Headquarters regrets to announce the passing of Major General Rabe Abubakar (Retired), who tragically lost his life in captivity following his abduction. The Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) convey its deepest sympathies to the Abubakar family, his colleagues and all Nigerians. Maj Gen Abubakar served the nation with distinction and held many appointments including spokesperson of various military formations as well as spokesman for the AFN as Director Defence Information. He made immense contributions to counter-insurgency operations, professional development of the AFN and numerous other commendable and outstanding impacts. His commitment to duty and to the unity of Nigeria remains a shining example for all personnel of the AFN. The Defence Headquarters withheld public comment on his abduction in deference to ongoing rescue efforts by the AFN and sister security agencies. Every operational resource was deployed in the hope of securing his safe return. This sad loss further strengthens the resolve of the AFN. We will remain resolute in the discharge of our constitutional mandate to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Nigeria and to protect all citizens. In response to series of unfortunate abductions across Nigeria including that of Maj Gen Abubakar, ongoing operations have since been further intensified to bring perpetrators to justice and to dismantle all terrorist networks threatening our nation. We assure Nigerians that the Armed Forces will not relent until peace and security are restored and those responsible for terrorists activities across the nation are held to account. “It is unfortunate that Maj. Gen. Rabe (Rtd), a Northerner, died in captivity in the North after being abducted by Northern bandits. This is a collective shame on the North that this crisis has been allowed to persist unchecked for two decades. Shame on us” – Yushau Shuaib.

@destinydice01 @instablog9ja I don't think the argument is about the amount of the suite. To someone somewhere 800k suit will still be considered cheap.

One of the most selfish things a man can do when searching for a wife is to think beauty does not matter. Of course, it does. Beauty matters more than character in most cases, but not all, because human beings are visual animals. They see and then make judgments. So, as much as it depends on you, marry a beautiful woman. It goes beyond you. It affects your children. Unfortunately, we live in a wicked world where less attractive people tend to struggle. Therefore, as much as it depends on you, marry a girl who can give you beautiful children. If she does not know how to pray, clean or cook, you can teach her. But can you teach her to be gorgeous if she is not physically attractive but has good character? #RenosNuggets

@renoomokri You may as well consider coming to take a teaching job in one of the primary school in Nigeria to show by example your deep rooted love for Africa. Such were the sacrifices of those Europeans that can't go away from our history by a mare campaign of columns.

Look at that proposed BRICS currency. It has the name of Nigeria written in Hausa. I know that Southern Nigerians will be upset. But look at the bigger picture. Better Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba than English, French, and German. Inferiority begins from the mind. And that is where Africa has to fight it. One way we can do this is through early education. We program our kids from youth to see themselves as inferior to Westerners by teaching them: A for Apple instead of A for Akara B for Ball instead of B for Boli C for Cake instead of C for Cedi We must Africanise Africa’s Europeanised education system. We must stop teaching African children that Mungo Park discovered River Niger, that John Speke found the source of the Nile or that Richard Lander discovered River Benue. These are not just historical fallacies. They also condition the African child to see himself as inferior to Europeans. Instead of London Bridge is Falling Down and Cinderella fairytales, let us teach African children right from primary one about the 1000-year-old Ife bronzes, the ancient Benin civilisation, Queen Amina of Zaria, Shaka the Zulu and his defeat of Britain, Mansa Musa and his fabulous wealth, and other historical facts about their great Black African heritage. If we can initiate this intellectual revolution, our next generation will have a mental shift. Instead of cruise, we will have youths capable of manufacturing cruise missiles. Reno Omokri Gospeller. President Tinubu at close of work today. This is the reason he took 2week off to Europe. The president security architecture is a complex system, and having a multitude of people around him can sometimes be more of hindrance than a help.

I want to thank everyone who came out to support and celebrate with the newly sworn-in Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of Akwa Ibom’s Local Government Areas. It was a privilege to remind them of the value of synergy across all levels of government. I also assured them that, as Governor, I fully respect their autonomy while emphasizing that real progress requires collaboration and shared responsibility. Congratulations to the Chairmen for centering their campaigns around the ARISE Agenda and its vision for a greater Akwa Ibom. I deeply appreciate the citizens of our state for voting and supporting these committed leaders. I challenge the Chairmen to prioritize the people’s welfare, live within their local government areas, and work closely with the State Government. Together, we will make sure the dividends of democracy reach every corner of Akwa Ibom. Special thanks to Elder Aniedi Ikoiwak and the AKISIEC team for conducting a free, fair, and credible election that truly reflects the people’s will. And to those elected under different political platforms, remember your mandate is to serve the people, not just your party. Let’s focus on unity and progress for the betterment of our communities. Let’s keep pushing forward, Akwa Ibom!

Alleged N80.2 Billion Fr@ud: EFCC operatives storm Kogi Governor’s Lodge in search of Yahaya Bello Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) stormed the Kogi Government Lodge in Asokoro on Wednesday night, September 18, in an attempt to forcefully arrest former Governor Yahaya Bello. A statement issued by Bello’s Director of Media, Ohiare Michael, said EFCC operatives were sh%%ting sporadically. “It has come to our notice that people suspected to be operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission are currently around the Kogi Government Lodge, Asokoro, in an attempt to forcefully arrest former Governor Yahaya Bello. They were sh%%ting sporadically. We want to place it on record that the EFCC should be held accountable if anything untoward happens to him. Tonight’s att@ck was needless, as the former governor made himself available to the EFCC in their office for interrogation. The EFCC had no questions to ask Alh. Yahaya Bello in the morning, but suddenly, they are out to arrest him. This action is cond€mnable. They have displayed the very reason many Nigerians believe they were fi¥hting political b@ttles instead of the mandate to fi¥ht corruption. This action reflects much more than the fi¥ht against corruption. We will keep Nigerians posted,” the statement reads. #Instablog9jaNews #Information #Awareness #StayUpdated
