If you weren’t born in America, you should be ineligible to receive SNAP or any other government benefits. Why should someone who immigrated here at 55 receive social security?

@AHaleIII Now you’re really encouraging inequality. Government collection of taxes ensures everyone pays a fair share. What you’re wanting is individuals to donate by honor system. Which takes advantage of benevolent donors vs non. That’s more inequality. Why be a country at all?

@AHaleIII If those native can’t depend on others in their country to help in time of need, what’s the point of being a country?

@kerrydougherty Saying this after the Texas mid-term redistricting that began this. That is some Epic hypocrisy that takes effort.

SNAP costs taxpayers $145 billion a year. Recipients spend TWICE what the average worker does on groceries. That’s not “helping the poor.” It’s rewarding people who abuse the system.
Sassafrass84@Sassafrass_84

I really dont care anymore. The fact that 40 million Americans are on Snap benefits blows my mind. We have a huge fraud problem in America. Generational benefits should not be a thing. The whole system needs to be revamped.

To my Democratic colleagues who are voting against reopening the government: quit throwing a fit, open the government, and let’s get to work.

@SenTomCotton They also rely on the ACA subsidies the Democrats are holding out for. Approve the subsidies.

It’s a disgrace that the Democrats are using Arkansans who rely on the food stamp program or WIC as political leverage. It’s time to end the Schumer Shutdown and re-open the government.

Day 27 of the Schumer Shutdown. Democrats are still fighting for illegal immigrants instead of the American people.

If Democrats really cared about ensuring Alabamians receive their SNAP benefits, they’d vote to reopen the government. They don’t give a RIP about Americans who will suffer because of THEIR ACTIONS.
