We’re already seeing a 14x YoY increase in GitHub commits, and it’s accelerating. AI has dramatically lowered the cost of writing code, so it’s now being used across far more businesses, applications, and use cases. We’re at the beginning of a massive productivity boom driven by the proliferation of bespoke software throughout the entire economy. Coding has been AI’s breakout use case this year. The fact that it’s increased demand for software engineers — rather than decreased it — should call into question the entire “AI will cause mass job loss” narrative.

@joshuar0bert @Jordan_Moorhead I would only privatize inter-city roads and highway construction and maintenance, where modern systems like automatic payment via radio eliminate the overhead. Local/in-city roads I would fund ~the current way. Sweden has ~the system I prefer.

I’m open to whatever works. The history of the NYC subway system points to multiple competing private service providers being far more effective and efficient than a single government monopoly. Even if the Tesla-car version is not ideal, I would pick its private provision over a single government monopoly alternative. Over time efficiency and incremental progress would swamp the government alternative. E.g. see self-driving cars vs Amtrak.
