@Empact The vibrations shouldn’t be an issue for a deep subway system like NY, but then you have to deal with karst topography. Which is an unsolved problem, hence, my vibration comment

@Empact Just completely ignores karst… If you can explain how to build a subway system in karst, you’d earn a lot of money. No joke

@arnavsahu341 Why don’t their kids live with them in their country? Seems like child neglect

Took me 8 years to get a green card. And that’s only because I did a special petition via EB1. I know of people who’ve been in the country for 25 years, have kids and still don’t have a green card.
Trevor Blackwell@tlbtlbtlb

People may not know that the processing time for green card applications are months to years. So someone could come on a O-1 or H-1B, work for 5 years, become critical in their role, apply, and then have to abandon their job. Incredibly harmful to US industry.

@rtroar Let me ask you a quick question to see if you’re bullshitting. You can’t AI this or Google it so go ahead and try to use it. What data product would your software be processing from a MK18 FLS and SLS sensor? And don’t say JSF or TIFF, because…

My acoustics project is 100% agent written c++. It’s also beating every current industry leader on every metric I’m measuring: memory use, cpu use, binary size, perceptual performance, developer ergonomics. Not being able to vibe code c++ is a skill issue.
os@segun_os_

you literally cannot vibe code c++ char is an 8 bit string that can also be an unsigned 8 bit int depending on how you use it. the level of precision required to write c++ is too high for vibecoding. there are just too many quirks in the language.

@rtroar And let’s say you did, then you should know with your exit interview that using CUI or SECRET information for yourself is a felony. So no matter what answer you provide, you’re either bullshitting or a felon. Pick your poison

@rtroar Bro thinks he just vibe coded acoustic software that’s better than what multi billion dollar applied research laboratories can produce.🤣🤣 If you really did do what you said you did, your software would be classified as a national security threat.

@rtroar All “publicly available” industry leaders. Majority of high-end acoustic processing & visualization software are protected by CUI or SECRET level controls. I know because I work on them. And no, your software is not better than what we work on lol

🚨 US is sending Green Card applicants back to India. 🚨 Thailand removes 60-day visa-free entry for Indians. 🚨 Singapore companies increasingly avoiding hiring Indians. The reality? Indians are facing tougher scrutiny, visa restrictions, hiring bias, and humiliation across multiple countries.

@zerodarke1even @Cernovich Crazy how we could do all of this without high skilled immigrants. How’s that possible? All of these countries have smarter individuals than the US, yet the US is continuously allowed to do this…

Dmbfk@heraldofkek

@Cernovich @beffjezos You want less immigrants that dont like the US? Dont be the reserve currency of the world, most immigrants want your dollars not your ideologies, this is why you feel like the US is not a nation

President Trump’s continued attack on legal immigrants is causing chaos and uncertainty. It could impact hundreds of thousands of hardworking students, entrepreneurs, and contributors to our communities by forcing many to leave the United States for years. This doesn’t just hurt immigrant families, it hurts all Americans and American businesses. It also splits up families and loved ones. With few details and many unanswered questions, we must demand better and a reversal of this approach.

@RadishHarmers My ancestors built this country from the wilderness up, my great grandfather helped the US with Boeing develop the B2 bomber. I’m currently developing sonar technology for the US Navy. What are you doing? Sitting at a publicly traded company? Wow, doing so much for America!

@avidseries When you compare the top 1% of people from other countries to all Americans, of course the whole group is going to have better averages. That’s called basic statistical analysis

The rightwing bubble is one of the most statistically illiterate districts in the discourse when it comes to immigration. Here are a few of the things they don't seem to know: (1) Indian H-1Bs are only a tiny percentage of the total legal immigrant population in the US (about 1 to 2%). (2) Just because a group might suck in Europe (e.g., Pakistanis, Lebanese, Turks), doesn't mean they suck here in the US. (All of those groups I named outperform whites on income and education here in the US). (3) Legal immigrants (including from many nations in the developing world) drive innovation and tech company creation here in the US at a higher rate than do native-born Americans. (4) While Indian immigrants display more in-group hiring bias than native-born whites, the amount of this bias is only average among immigrant groups.

@Cloudwatch199 @USCISJoe It was actually the original point. Immigrants just fear monger themselves to death because they do not understand American politics. Another reason why they shouldn’t be here.

USCIS spent 24 hours terrifying America’s high-skilled immigrant workforce before quietly backtracking after backlash from tech and business leaders. Turns out threatening scientists, engineers and AI talent with visa chaos is not exactly a genius economic strategy. @USCISJoe seems totally unfit for the job.

🔈 PM-601-0199 Update: The Department of Homeland Security clarified the immigration policy it announced on Friday, suggesting that current H1B visa holders could be able to “continue on their current path.” semafor.com/article/05/22/… Request: Please do not send me a direct message asking me to explain what a new policy will mean for your application right after it comes out before we know anything about it. This is the latest example of why premature inquiries are not ideal. A policy rolled out on Friday might be completely different come Saturday. I’m now 261 messages behind in telegram (about 8 days), and this latest surge of premature inquiries could put that backlog out longer. In other words, your patience is an essential part of our ability to help you. 🙏 - @curtismorrison
