Agaton Sax books are available in many languages and are tremendous fun. The character of the amateur detective is a well known trope and children do love a good mystery story with lots of interesting characters.

Agaton Sax, by Nils-Olof Franzén, was one of the most popular childrens detective series in both Sweden and the UK. Sax is a jolly pastiche of many classic detectives and aided by Inspector Lispington and Aunt Agatha goes about solving all manner of crimes. Franzén did the English translations of the books himself, ensuring they kept the style and humour of the Swedish originals. In the UK most editions of Agaton Sax were illustrated by Quentin Blake.

Happy birthday to Andrew Robinson, who played Garak on Deep Space Nine and voiced him on Lower Decks. He also directed one DS9 episode and two episodes of Voyager, and he wrote the novel A Stitch in Time, which tells the story of Garak's past. #StarTrek
