Today, in Iran, in the middle of a war, the regime executed a 19-year-old national wrestling champion for the crime of joining January protests. 💔 After signaling to the world, including President @realDonaldTrump, that they would halt executions of protesters, the regime has done the exact opposite. Three young protesters, Saleh Mohammadi, Mehdi Ghasemi, and Saeed Davoudi, were hanged in Qom after a sham trial. Reports indicate torture. Forced confessions. No access to chosen lawyers. Closed-door proceedings. No right to appeal. I call on @GlobalAthleteHQ to stand with Iranian athletes who are being silenced, imprisoned, and executed simply for raising their voices. This is not just about sports. This is about human dignity.

@runliftrunlift Ah ok, so the point isn't the pace its the hr as usual? So aim for a comfortable pace that feels good and just rest to keep HR in range when needed 👍

Most runners run their easy days too fast. Using Daniels’ VDOT tables, here are typical easy pace ranges for different marathon levels. Easy running should generally stay below LT1. Conversational pace. You should be able to nasal breathe comfortably if you wanted to.

2nd month down and another time trial this morning. @Hybridathlete 12 week 5k/ lifting program 20:59–>20:49 Ended up with a ~10 second PR. (Last month I ran 3.2 on accident and didn’t realize the mistake til today) Happy with my progress! It’s not in the plan but I’m going to do another next weekend for my 30th birthday and have @Brady_H pace me for a 20:30

21:37 5k trial today while following @Hybridathlete 12-week program. A bit slower than what I wanted. Over paced it a bit in the first mile. Good data to have. Overall happy with the result.

Today I accomplished something I never even thought about doing until recently… I ran my first marathon. Finished in just over 5 hours. A few months ago I came across a marathon that happened to be scheduled just a few days after my birthday and decided to make it a goal. Over the last 120+ days I ran 545+ miles preparing for it. This journey taught me a lot about myself. It’s not just about crossing the finish line, it’s about the whole journey. The early mornings, the cold runs, and showing up even when you don’t feel like it. There were definitely moments I thought about quitting, but the support group around me helped keep me on track. Proof that if you stay consistent and keep showing up, you can accomplish things you once thought were impossible. Grateful for the journey and excited to see what’s next. 🏁 #MotivationInMotion

Well it works well enough after learning about options for 5 years it became my full time job after my layoff. Extremely blessed, looked for work for a year and got only 3 interviews. Im very thankful for learning about stocks and options over the years so I can still care for my family. But its still only part time at most, I probably spend 10 to 20 hours a week researching and managing positions. It's worth the time investment imo.

This is true. But most professionals investors are not skilled enough to beat the market consistently. The added work of research and stress of wider market fluctuations is not worth it for most people.

@dpolehn If you're skilled and do your research, there's nothing better than individual stocks.

@tim_roozendaal Someone should sell gels in a syringe so you can just shoot it into your mouth. I hate the pouches lol

Struggeling with gels during your runs? Here are 3 tips that will help: 1. Take your time while ingesting them. See fueling as a window rather than a fixed moment in your run. 2. Try a lot of different brands and gels. See which one you like and sit well. 3. Practise. Your body needs to learn how to digest the carbs while you are running. Especially on harder intensities and during race pace efforts. My personal favourite is the SIS isotonic Fruit Salade gel. I also really like the beta fuel gels for a higher carb intake. If this was usefull, following me for more running tips.

I think activity time vs. elapsed time can be a helpful metric to watch, but not on every run. For most easy runs, I don’t really think it matters. But for long runs, key workouts, or steady weekday runs, I think it matters more.

@Brady_H 4 burgers with bacon and cheese every night. Reasonable cost, easily 2-3k+ calories for the meal.

@tim_roozendaal When else will I find time for podcasts and audio books? Main reason I use them is to get more done at once.

I've gone full circle on the running without headphones to running with headphones to running without headphones again. I rarely run with headphones now. Why? The weather is good, so I don't need the distraction. It also gives me time to work through the day, the week and my goals. You can literally move through your problems, which is great. I still run with headphones sometimes. Why? It distracts me and makes it easier to finish an easy run or do a treadmill run to maintain good volume, rather than quiting early because I'm just bored and don't want to run. Listening to audio books during running is pretty cool. I binged the whole Orphan X series in like 10 weeks. Both have a purpose but I feel like you should try to spend more time without headphones and just make running a moment during your day where you connect with your surroundings, nature and your thoughts & feelings. If you run with headphones everytime, give it a shot. Leave them at home and see what pops up in your brain.

A bunch of concepts in running are counterintuitive and go against what we would expect as “common sense”: - Painful tendons often need load rather than rest to improve - Training volume is more predictive of success than intensity (for most race distances) - Running isn’t very effective at building bone density, despite the impact forces. - The best way to improve lactate threshold is by training below it, not above it. - Feeling horrible during a taper is often a good sign for race day

@tyromper Btw, look at a garmin in-reach mini for a way to track them and allow them to call for help in an emergency. Great for hiking, camping, etc. They are satellite so will work even out of cell service.

@tyromper I mean, a dumb phone that can only call and text you or emergency numbers might be good? But I dont think I'd give a smart phone to my kids until they are at least 16. But thats years away still so what do I know 🤔 🤷‍♂️

My daughter (5th grade) says to me, "Hey dad, out of 60 kids I'm one of only 2 in my grade WITHOUT a phone!" Me: "I'm glad to know there's 1 other set of great, intentional parents besides your mom & I!!" My daughter: uhhhh daaaaaaad!!......... HOLD THE LINE PARENTS. Young kids don't need access to EVERYTHING in the world. Loving your kids isn't GIVING THEM EVERYTHING THEY WANT. Loving your kids is teaching them: •DISCIPLINE. •DELAYING GRATIFICATION. •SETTING HEALTHY BOUNDARIES. It is absurd so many CHILDREN have phones. Most adults can't use them responsibly. You're setting your child up for failure handing them unrestricted access to everything so young. She won't have one in 6th grade either! When did you allow your kid a cell phone?!
