BREAKING: A source close to Iran's Ghalibaf says Yemen has begun blocking the Bab el-Mandab Strait, with initial warnings issued to passing ships in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandab. He says, in the past 48 hours, two Iranian strikes on two ships off Oman's coast, additional warning shots, and one ship seized have been carried out, and a new formation has been established on the opposite side of Bab el-Mandab. The decision will be made at "zero hour."

Last night, America apparently hit energy targets in Iran and a major bridge. It appears that Iran has made good on its promise to hit infrastructure targets of our allies in the region. Every time President Trump launches one of these targets that have no impacts on the war or helps us win it, he deepens the threat of retaliation and the harm on us and our allies. It’s hard to overstate how reckless and irrational the president’s actions are. They harm our interest while not providing even the possibility of benefit. It’s starting to look like he is intentionally trying to thrust the region into an all out and highly destructive war. Or he truly he is like Emperor Nero, and has gone mad.

Left: Engineering Office in the 1960s Right: Engineering Office in the 2060s Hopefully AI and Engineers can coexist together and AI will not replace the need for engineers, for sure a lot of tasks will be done by AI, we already seeing that, but the engineer should always supersede AI. #Engineering

2026 Best Countries for Urban Planning These stand out for proactive, integrated, people-first planning that delivers livable, efficient, sustainable cities despite density or constraints. 1. Singapore (the standout global model) Singapore transformed from post-independence slums and congestion into a "Garden City" and one of the world's most planned urban environments through centralized master planning by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and Housing & Development Board (HDB). ~80-82% of residents live in high-quality public HDB housing, often integrated with schools, markets, clinics, and transit from day one. Exceptional public transport (MRT), strict land-use zoning, and ~47-50% green coverage despite extreme density. Long-term vision: land reclamation, integrated transport-oriented development, biodiversity, and climate resilience. It frequently ranks near the top in sustainable/smart city indices and serves as a textbook case for developing nations. knowledgehub.clc.gov.sg nationalgeographic.com 2. Denmark (especially Copenhagen) Copenhagen has topped the EIU Global Liveability Index for two years running (98/100 in 2026), with perfect or near-perfect scores in infrastructure, education, and stability. stateofgreen.com Key strengths: The famous "Finger Plan" (since 1947) channels growth along transit corridors, preventing sprawl. World-class cycling infrastructure (bikes often outnumber cars in modal share). Green integration, district energy systems, clean harbors you can actually swim in, and high walkability. Denmark excels at holistic, sustainable mobility and livability. wonderfulcopenhagen.com 3. Netherlands — Bike-first design, masterful water management (polders), compact yet vibrant cities (Amsterdam, Rotterdam often top Arcadis sustainable rankings). 4. Switzerland (Zurich/Geneva) — Hyper-efficient public transport, cleanliness, and balanced high-quality development. 5. Japan (Tokyo/Osaka) — Dense but extremely functional: punctual rail, walkability, disaster resilience, and efficient land use. Nordic peers (Sweden, Norway, Finland) and Austria (Vienna's social housing model) also consistently rank high. These countries prioritize integrated planning (transport + housing + environment + equity) over decades, backed by strong institutions and public investment. #urbanplanning
