There has been some good country since 2000. It just isn’t played on the radio. They call it Americana now, which the late great Todd Snider described as “less popular country music.” If you want a treat check out Luke Bell, who died young in 2022. He was the modern guy who most embodied the spirit of the old classics, especially Merle Haggard.

The KKK are nerds. No one cares about them. That’s why the SPLC spent way less money on informants in the Klan than other groups. It’s the more mainstream white nationalist groups I worry about, as well as the way white nationalism has become mainstream discourse in the GOP. There is a reason why JD Vance literally refused to condemn people saying “I love Hitler.” He didn’t want to alienate a significant portion of his base who are literal Nazis who are obsessed with making America white and Christian again. You do you but not sure I’d want to be associated with that side, even if the Democrats are garbage as well.

Sure. I taught in Baltimore City for six years and have given close to 15,000 Uber rides there. Black MAGAs are rare here. Why would you support a party full of people who hate you and that literally refuses to condemn racist rhetoric including “I love Hitler,” who gives a big State Department job to a guy who said “competent white men” have to run everything, etc? Pretty sad.

@GeorgeSolomonIV @AwakeNeverWoke1 They need a universal signature verification process for mail in ballots. I’d make that part of the bill, along with a free national voter ID. That ID could contain a signature that goes into a database that can be used to verify mail in ballots.

The fact that you equate attempts to remedy years of disenfranchisement with “racism” says it all about who you are. Poor white Southerners only have 90 percent of the representation in the South, and you need 100 because that’s what “fairness dictates” right? This is all about eliminating representation for black people in the South and turning it entirely red in an attempt for permanent Republican rule. But wait until November when the purple state legislatures flip blue and those states gerrymander heavily toward Democrats.

What “fraud” have you witnessed? And no anyone can’t just walk in and pretend to be anyone. It’s a felony and it is rare. What if the person who you impersonated shows up to vote? You’re on camera. The few cases in recent years have all been Trump supporters. The FBI is making a big deal because all of five noncitizens voted in the last election nationwide. You all are so full of shit.

It is also about ethics and voter access. If the Republicans have a problem with the voter access stuff, raise objections and try to pass a compromise bill. They don’t want to ban gerrymandering, especially now that the Supreme Court gave them the tools to eliminate every black Democrat seat in the South and dilute the black vote into safe red districts, which they are jumping out of their shoes to start doing. Here’s what’s going to happen though. The Democrats are going to likely flip some state houses in purple states with Democratic governors in November. Those states, including possibly Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, are going to redistrict heavily toward the Democrats, offsetting or exceeding Republican gains in the South. Or they could all agree to ban it.
