I served in both NAB and FIA. I have seen investment scams up close. The people crying over “One Constitution” today are not the first victims, and they will not be the last. Here are the lessons I learned that can protect your investment and money. 🧵

My leader @ImranKhanPTI sits in jail with his health in jeopardy. His imprisonment weighs on us every day. But I know him well enough to say this: He would want Pakistan's young people to keep building, to take on the world. Especially in AI. Especially now, without losing sight of the political struggle, which we will not abandon. This thread is for them 🧵 — Forced to stay away from my country gave me two benefits: More time and more passion. I chose not to waste either. This is a personal account: It started with my need to transcribe my long speeches, some over thirty minutes, in mixed English and Urdu on YouTube (which gave a Hindi/Sanskrit transcript). The platforms available would do a bad job with the mix. So, I asked my coaches — ChatGPT, Claude & Gemini and I concluded to do it myself, locally, with Whisper’s large, medium & small models and other AI tools. This was completed in Dec ‘25 For the sake of open source and transparency, I am publishing it on GitHub. github.com/DrArifAlvi/you… In January ’26, I began building the Dr Arif Alvi AI Archive. An attempt to bring together everything I had said, written, read, and recorded across decades, and make it searchable, synthesizable, MINE. I built it alone. No team. No budget. Just time, curiosity, and persistence. It runs entirely on my enhanced laptop. My data never leaves it. My AI agents ingest my writings/articles; thousands of books read and summarised; millions of words of archival material; my thousands of speeches on YouTube press conferences; thousands of talk show appearances since 2000 and clips on YouTube. All scraped from the net via APIs— indexed, and alive inside my local RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) system that answers back. My 50,000+ tweets are searchable faster than X's own tools. Not just by keyword but semantically. None of it leaves my computer or enters the public domain, remains private. — The local LLMs answer questions, draft research briefs, synthesize across all data. When I need to reach beyond my own archive, they augment from public LLMs — ChatGPT, Claude, DeepSeek, others. I use the archive every day, updating it regularly. It has changed how I think and work. — Following are the layers of the stack — what I built is one-of-one. But what I built it from is available to every-one: ▶️ Ollama / Llama / Phi / Qwen — local LLMs running entirely on-device ▶️ Whisper — bilingual English-Urdu speech transcription ▶️ ChromaDB — vector memory across 70,000+ chunks ▶️ Sentence Transformers — semantic search across tweets, speeches, and archives ▶️ Streamlit — dashboard with dual modes: semantic search and AI research ▶️ Six LLM interfaces (ChatGPT, Claude, DeepSeek, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot) for python scripts and for augmentation of local output ▶️ OpenClaw and GitHub — for code management ▶️VS Code — for scripts and code writing None of them are mine. The COMPOSITION is mine. — I should tell you what it took to get here. I started learning Python basics from online courses. I am not a programmer, but I reviewed and iterated over a million lines of scripts —learning, correcting, improving, understanding—just enough to keep going. I had launched Pakistan's Presidential Initiative on Artificial Intelligence in 2019. I thought I understood AI but I took advanced courses anyway. There is always more to learn, and humility about ignorance is not a weakness. It is the only honest starting point. — There are tens of thousands of students, researchers, operators, lawyers, and doctors across Pakistan and the world, quietly trying to dabble in AI right now. To them I would say: software writing is mostly done by machines today. You do not need to become a programmer. You need to understand enough to read, direct, correct and employ tools — like a symphony conductor, with an AI baton. More than anything, pick a project. Something real, something yours.🔑 Scripts fill the architecture. Concrete fills the blueprint. GET TO WORK And do not move slowly. AI tools and agentic systems are changing every single day. What was remarkable yesterday is ordinary today. Sometimes the gap is hours, not months. The people who stay ahead are not waiting to fully understand it before they begin. THEY ARE ALREADY BUILDING. — Pakistan cannot afford to fall behind in this. Not out of nostalgia for what Pakistan was, but out of economic and strategic urgency for what it must become — because our talented, hungry people can build anything when given the tools and the leadership. This is for them. START

I’ve spent years thinking I was the tech expert in the family — I was wrong 🤣 While in exile, @ArifAlvi taught himself Python and built a self hosted & self compiled AI Archive from scratch. Of his life, politics and presidency. No team, no budget—just custom code to suit his own needs, analysis and AI product As someone like myself who works with AI daily in my dental practice and also on a few other projects on the side, I’m genuinely floored. This is more than an archive; it’s a blueprint for how our local dev community should move forward to use AI tools to make sense of complexity I’m trying to convince him to post the full architecture. Watch this space. 🇵🇰

In 10 years, we'll realize young adults can't read, write, or think as well as they should. We'll wonder how we allowed students to offload huge chunks of their learning to AI. Today we're just watching it happen. This is the most obvious unforced error of our time.

@Rainmaker1973 When inside the car, the whole environment was moving at 50km/hr including the drone laying on the seat. After you power it on, you don't need to accelerate it further, just hover it and it has already achieved the speed... however when you move it outside, it will left behind.

Pakistan is the most inbred, radical, fanatic, and retarded country on Earth. Now they're deepening ties with the our biggest geopolitical adversary, the CCP. Why are we even considering them an ally? Why are we trusting them to mediate between us and Iran? Why are we giving them hundreds of millions of dollars in aid every year? We need to redefine what an ally means and have higher standards about who we're willing to help and work with.

Pakistan is adding advanced Chinese submarines as part of deepening defence ties with China. Pakistan to receive 8 Hangor-class submarines (4 built in China, 4 locally via tech transfer). The four China-built boats (PNS Hangor, PNS Shushuk, PNS Mangro, PNS Ghazi) are currently in sea trials and nearing handover. The AIP system gives Pakistan significantly improved submerged endurance and stealth compared to its older French MESMA-retrofitted Agosta submarines. Source: Reuters

I condemn, in the strongest possible terms, the illegal interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla in international waters, and the unlawful detention of activists onboard. This flagrant violation of international law and deliberate obstruction of humanitarian aid by Israeli occupying power once again demonstrates continued Israeli impunity. International community must step in to end repeated violations of international law by Israel, lift the blockade of Gaza, and ensure immediate release of all humanitarian workers and activists onboard the flotilla.

JUST IN: Members of an Islamic sect have been arrested in the UK for slavery and forced marriages. Over 500 police officers have raided the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light in Crewe, England. Police say members were arrested for human trafficking, s*xual assault, r*pe, forced marriage, and modern-day slavery. A total of six men and three women were arrested. The Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light (AROPL) is a religious sect that derives from Shia Islam and has charity status in the UK. According to the Guardian, 150 people, 56 of them being children, live together in the gated property in Crewe. There are largely two types of academics: A and B. Their worlds are so different, so insular they don't even know the other type exists. Type A: > Comes from a middle, upper-middle class family > Well-educated parents (with advanced degrees including PhDs) > Parents map out their kid's career trajectory > Parents teach academia's hidden curriculum: applications, admission essays, extracurriculars, and so on. > Send the kid to a "good" school (private or private tutoring) > Kid gets good grades > Goes to Ivy League or Oxbridge or a similar top school for undergrad > Decides to do a PhD > Gets into another top program in a top school because of top undergrad school, duh > Gets a well-connected supervisor during PhD > Gets a tenure-track job offer from another top university in the final year of PhD even before graduation because of the supervisor, duh > Fully understands the tenure clock > Publishes papers, monographs on time > Gets tenure > Thinks PhD is easy, tenure is easy, academia is easy > Marries a colleague in the same university > Has kids > The cycle repeats Type B: > Comes from a dysfunctional, working-class family > Parents who barely graduate high school > Parents with no idea what kind of education their kids need > Goes to a no-name shit school with underqualified teachers > Then goes to a community college or some such institution if lucky, joins the military if unlucky (KIA.exe) > Reads a lot, become autodidact, becomes a half-decent writer > Someone suggests, do a PhD, become a professor > Likes the idea of academic life, starts applying to PhD programs > Gets rejected from top programs because don't have good recommendation letters or connections > Goes to a third tier PhD program in a university located in the middle of nowhere > PhD stipend is not enough, has to work part-time to make ends meet > Lives in a shitty apartment, sometimes eats at the soup kitchen > Still works hard and publishes a bunch of papers > Thinks I'll write my way out of poverty > Sees a bunch of Type A PhDs in conferences, tries to "network" with them, Type A folks recognize Type B PhDs and stay away from them. > Defends PhD where the committee says this is excellent work and imminently publishable > Applies to tenure-track jobs left, right, and center. Gets rejected from everywhere > Idea of being unemployed with a PhD causes desperation > Gets a temporary teaching job, gets paid per course basis with no health benefits > Spends a few years as adjunct with semester to semester renewal of job contract > Barely survives, has to take up part-time jobs > Get a one-year postdoc, decides to turn PhD dissertation into a monograph in the hopes it will get tenure-track job > Postdoc ends, back to temporary adjunct jobs > Monograph stays incompelete, no time to work on it > Tries moving out of academia, is considered over-qualified > Reads social media posts by Type A academics saying PhD is easy, academia is easy > Thinks, what could I have done better?

My Prof asked: Why are some humans lactose intolerant? I said: Lactase enzyme deficiency, Sir. He replied: No. We’re just the only animals weird enough to keep drinking milk after infancy. Mind blown. 🤯 Biologically, lactose intolerance isn't a disease... it’s the mammalian default! Lactose Persistence is actually the mutation.

India’s political commentator Sanjaya Baru reveals that Modi, during his visit to Israel days before the Iran war, was informed of a regime change operation in Iran. Delhi even started preparing for a post Islamic Republic Iran. This explains the initial five day silence over Supreme Leader Khamenei's death. India's betrayal of Iran, a fellow SCO and BRICS partner and an outstanding ally, offers a great lesson to Russia, China, and emerging Global South leaders like Brazil and South Africa to tread carefully with India. They completely hand in glove with all imperial schemes.
Sushant Singh@SushantSin

.@Barugaru1 puts out what has been spoken of in hushed tones in Delhi. Modi trusted Bibi's claim that the Iranian regime will be finished for good with Israeli strikes, and India thus planned its policy on Iran waiting for the next government to take power in Tehran.
