The tree in the picture is a giant sequoia tree that was there before Jesus was born, it was older than the Roman Empire.
Before the criminal settler orcs from Europe arrived the old growth had trees that were 300 feet tall and 35 feet wide. Most of them were 2000-3000 years old.
After california gold rush the greedy logging companies started to cut down these trees. Each tree would cause a little earthquake when it fell. About 95% of these majestic trees were lost.
The funny part? The sequoia tree wood was quite brittle and a huge portion of it was wasted by loggers. Most of it shattered on impact or were burned by loggers.
The crimes of European settlers their destruction of nature is not talked about enough

We really shouldn’t have cut down all the giant old growth trees. What a loss.

"violence isn't the answer" only gets said when oppressed people start fighting back, not when the oppression is happening

Game theory proves that you must always be prepared for confrontation. Regardless of how successful, how liked, or how loved you are, you will inevitably face opposition. New threats emerge constantly, and former allies won't be driven by the same incentives as you anymore. To find out what drives your enemies and allies, you must look at their past and remember that behaviors repeat. The past helps unveil what their true intentions might be. Peace is maintained through strategic vigilance, not naivety or paranoia.

Whenever the expression "a fool at 40" is made, it is almost always directed at a man.
This is because, men are expected to earn wisdom as they age so persistent foolishness past a certain age, is considered a failure.
For women howerver, such expectations do not exist because foolishness is the default state. Which is to say, it is foolishness from the cradle to the grave unless there's a *COMPETENT* masculine figure to curb it.
And this is why when a married woman exhibits extreme stupidity, attention is often directed at the masculine figure that is supposed to have her on a leash:
"Where is her husband"

Office politics advice:
1) If someone is generally disliked, avoid associating with them even if they are "a good person"
2) Keep 1 incompetent person around you so you always look good in comparison. They also give you some breathing space if layoffs happen (they will be cut before you).
3) Underpromise and overdeliver. If something is going to take you 2 days, tell them 3 and get it done in 2.5 days.

The harshest truth everyone must learn in their lives is that hard work never guarantees success, and that merit can be left entirely unrewarded. And that occurs when you're optimizing for the wrong variables. The antidote to your insignificance is positioning. Ruthless positioning. Remember to own the things you work for and advertise them accordingly. Because hard work without visibility remains entirely invisible.

How to respond to being disrespected with confidence
1. Toss it back with a question: “What exactly were you hoping to gain by saying that?”
2. Give them the Death Stare: Nothing says “not cool” like silent judgment.
3. Play it cool: “Sorry, what was that? I want to make sure I understand you correctly!”
4. Draw the line: “Talk to me like that again, and I’m gone!”
5. Put it on pause: “Hit me up when you’re ready to talk respectfully!”
6. Lay down the law: Let’s get one thing straight: that’s not okay. Don’t ever speak to me like that again!
7. Kill them with kindness: Smile, say “Thank you,” and just walk away. Sometimes, grace wins the day.

I don't understand why some people can't get along with their colleagues or managers. They’re among the easiest people to navigate. You don’t have to become friends with them. Just listen attentively for a while. In a few weeks’ time, you’ll know them well enough to understand their quirks. Then simply tell them what they want to hear, reinforce their ego, and you’ll be fine.
Is it Machiavellian or sociopathic? Maybe. But it’s a reliable ticket to promotion, or to not being laid off when an AI agent eventually comes for your job. Being likable dramatically improves your odds in life.
