The items were officially handed over in Komamboga by Afande Major Gen. @AigpDamulira and Afande Emma. During the event, Maj. Gen. Damulira conveyed the President’s appreciation to the youth for their support during the elections and for upholding peace and stability. We sat back and watched him lead Uganda’s “liberation struggle’ which he premised on an uncritical approach to democracy as handed down from the global North. Twice, my ka-blaza mobilized Ugandans for democratic elections aimed at ousting the systems of dictator Museveni from power. Today, Bobi Wine is living outside Uganda: he fled from the country after hiding within for two months - as a fugitive in his own country. Is it time for ALL Uganda’s freedom fighters to admit we need a serious rethink, reflection, reconfiguration and refashioning of OUR struggle for freedom? NEW: Thousands more Marines and sailors are on the way to the Middle East as the U.S. bolsters its presence in the region. A task force of about 4,500 personnel from the USS Boxer amphibious ready group and the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit is currently sailing across the Pacific to deploy. Israeli Reservist Charged With Leaking Iron Dome Secrets to Iran A 26-year-old Jerusalem resident, Raz Cohen, who served in an Iron Dome air defense unit, was indicted at the Jerusalem District Court on March 20, 2026, on security-related charges, including contact with Iranian intelligence and transferring sensitive information. According to authorities, he passed details about the Iron Dome system and military sites to Iranian operatives via Telegram since December 2025, allegedly receiving around $1,000 in cryptocurrency in return.

Parliament  Commends Lira Regional Referral  Hospital for enhanced quality health care, budget performance The Members of Parliament on the Public Accounts Commitee (PAC Central) have commended Lira Regional Referral  Hospital (LRRH) for high budget performance, with absorption  rate standing at 97% and provison of enhanced quality health care to the citizens. In the financial  year 2024/2025, Parliament allocated shillings 18B to Lira Regional Referral Hospital which has a bed capacity of 456 and serves 10 districts in Lango sub-region with  a population  of 2.6 Million people. LRRH top management led by Hospital  Director Dr Andrew Odur who is also the Accounting Officer, appeared before  the PAC Commitee on Thursday 19th March, 2026 chaired by Hon.Gorreth Namugga to respond to queries raised in the Auditor General's report for 2024/2025 financial year. Hon Namugga says it's commendable  that LRRH is meeting all its statutory obligations and ensuring budget absorption  of upto 97%. "Director and your team, I want to commend Lira Regional Referral Hospital  for this high budget absorption rate, meeting all statutory obligations is important，you are doing well at 97%, next time ，I want you to improve and be at 100%" says Hon.Namugga. PAC Members were also happy with the hospital leadership for the  increased quality health care services to the citizenry. "In other places, there is alot of corruption, people told us there are no free services including delivery,  but I want to thank you for offering  free services to our people, remarked  committee chair Hon Namugga. The committee also applauded the Hospital for increasing its revenue collection through the private wing service  which nearly doubled in one year, from shillings 335M to 650M significantly contributing to the consolidated account. The Hospital Director Dr Andrew Odur while appearing to the committee  requested Parliament to increase  funds to the Hospital  to construct a complex structure to address the ever increasing patient number. Dr Odur also informed Parliament about the Hospital strategic plans which include; increasing the Intensive care unit bed capacity from the current 3 to 10, procuring more five dialysis machine to increase to 10 from the current 5,increasing neonatal unit bed capacity from 30 to 60, constructing new storage capacity amongst others.
