If a person of Kivumbi can be disappeared and every government agency feigns ignorance, who’s in charge of our country’s affairs? What will happen to a mere me with an unknown profile. Intimidation into submission won’t be the best strategy all indicators can reveal.

The Police have filed an affidavit before Court in response to the writ of habeas corpus filed by Muwanga Kivumbi’s lawyers regarding his abduction and unknown whereabouts. While they’ve admitted to intercepting his vehicle at a checkpoint in Mpigi town, they have denied arresting, abducting, or detaining him. Police also indicated that Kivumbi isn’t in their custody and that they don’t know where he is. Eleven days later, the State still can’t account for the whereabouts of Muwanga Kivumbi.

On this day in 2022 DP president general, Norbert Mao was appointed Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs. His appointment came a day after DP signed a cooperation agreement with Mr Museveni and the NRM. Accepting the role, Mao said his primary mandate was to midwife a transition from Museveni to the next leader. He stated that the President had tasked him specifically with overseeing the presidential handover and enacting constitutional reforms. Four years on, however, Mao has changed his tune. He has publicly voiced frustration with government red tape, the “speed bumps” thrown up by state bureaucrats, and lack of funding for meaningful electoral reforms. He has, therefore, been reduced to lamenting, just like any ordinary citizen.

Ten days on: Muwanga Kivumbi still missing Kivumbi was intercepted near Mpigi police station while travelling to Kampala, a day after the International Crimes Division (ICD) of the High court granted him bail on July 10, 2026. Police spokesperson ACP Kituuma Rusoke said that if Kivumbi was in the custody of any security agency, he would be produced before court at the appropriate time. observer.ug/news/ten-days-…

The application was with Jane Frances Abodo. She kept it for 2weeks and as Principal Judge was going to hear it and dismiss it. But I think she got wind of plans by applicants to strongly oppose her. As DPP, she initiated persecution against KB. She now couldn't be judge & jury.

@MrBusinge Rwomushana is Mr. Museveni's protege. He was groomed in state house in early 1990s as a counterweight to Besigye. By 1994, Museveni wrongly thought Besigye would contest in Rujumbura. He didn't. M7 waited in 1996, Rwomushana was defeated by Jim. Then Besigye emerged in 2001.
