Heartbroken. Crying. Sven got a very grave prognosis at the Vet today. He's got a severe congenital heart murmur, so we took him back for more testing but it was deemed too risky to give him sedatives for any of the procedures he needed. He's not expected to live past 18 months. He's likely to experience sudden death without warning or pain. He's 8 mos now. So, we'll just continue to heap gobs of love on him and honor him like the amazing little creature he is.

As you probably noticed, I've been very silent this week. Last Friday, we found out that our beautiful Ratatouille is dying from cancer. He has drastically lost weight, and he is throwing up a lot. They said that's because of where the cancer is. They wanted me to put him down. But, he is still eating, drinking, grooming, trying to play, and wants attention. So, I chose to watch him live! I am treating his nausea, giving him subcutaneous fluids, and watching for any signs of pain. He is about 13 and a very loving gentleman who taps me when he wants pets. Rescuing animals is wonderful, but watching things like this happen to them is heart-wrenching!
