@LukeGromen Never really understood why people give so much importance to gold. Lowly paper money can be crumpled and stuffed in clothing for insulation, or used to start or maintain a fire. For foundational purposes gold is worthless. Yes, it's arbitrary, cultural, I get that.

I think the primary reason so many women are drawn to “progressivism” is because it’s supposed to be forward thinking & focused on the future. Whereas conservatism is viewed as focused on the past. When you are half the population and you believe you have been brutalized, dehumanized & oppressed since the beginning of time by the other half, there is nothing in the past that is idyllic to you, nothing to ‘conserve’. But in the future, there is hope. Women like change because the hope is always that change will lead to something better for us. For all of us. And progressivism is supposed to bring that hopeful change. Of course we know it doesn’t because progressivism isn’t about the future it too is about the past. This is where conservatives should focus. Show that progressivism isn’t about forward thinking, future focused solutions for all. It is just regressive recycled ideas repackaged with new terminology (e.g. what many people feel conservatism is). Conservatives should be setting the tone for the future. This is what will bring women in!

Just a brief synopsis of what he was trying to say 😂 Bottom line is that he’s talking about two different entities here. The Federal Reserve and the Treasury Department. The U.S. Federal Reserve conducts open market operations by buying or selling Treasury bonds and other securities to control the money supply. With these transactions, the Fed can expand or contract the amount of money in the banking system and drive short-term interest rates lower or higher depending on the objectives of its monetary policy. To increase the money supply, the Fed will purchase bonds from banks, which injects money into the banking system. The Treasury Department issues Treasury bonds (T-bonds) which are one of four types of debt issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to finance the U.S. government’s spending activities. The four types of debt are Treasury bills, Treasury notes, Treasury bonds, and Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS). These securities vary by maturity and coupon payments. This is what they mean when they say US debt. The Treasury Department also prints the money based on requests from the Fed, which then distributes it.
