You can’t feel bad for lost revenue for them when they broke rules that may have gained them an advantage which loses the other team the same riches. On the one hand this is extremely harsh. Elsewhere someone described it as a £200 million fine.
I've also seen a Southampton season ticket holder welcome it, as they don't want to go up as cheats.
I'm falling on the harsh side.
This appears to be the coaching staff only. The players, fans and board appear to be innocent victims here.
When a player is done for illegal gambling (for example) they are penalised, not the club.
Perhaps a 12 month ban for the manager would have been more appropriate.
