Police in Central Park thought they were hunting down a skilled pickpocket after multiple visitors reported their phones mysteriously disappearing without anyone noticing a thing. But while officers were questioning people in the park, a raccoon suddenly ran up, grabbed a phone, and exposed itself as the real thief. After chasing it through the trees, police found a hidden stash of stolen phones tucked away in a raccoon’s hiding spot. They later announced that anyone missing a phone in Central Park could check with the station to claim it.

Chappell Roan built the most aggressive fan-boundary framework in pop music. It is now the single biggest threat to her career. In August 2024, a stalker showed up at her parents' house in Missouri and tracked her to a hotel room in New York. She posted TikToks setting boundaries. Charli XCX, Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter, Lady Gaga, Lorde, and Elton John all reached out privately. The boundaries were justified. Then the framework calcified into a system. Security doesn't distinguish between a stalker tracking her to a hotel room and an 11-year-old walking past her breakfast table in São Paulo. The guard called it "disrespect" and "harassment." Threatened to file a formal complaint with the hotel. The kid, Jorginho's stepdaughter (her biological father is Jude Law, for context on how absurd the power dynamic is here), sat there crying while her mom got lectured. Two weeks ago in Paris, Roan confronted paparazzi outside a restaurant by filming them. Sabrina Carpenter said at the Grammys that Roan "started a movement." The framing was still working. Today it broke. 25M+ views on this tweet. The same internet that defended her boundary TikToks in 2024 is turning on her over a child who smiled and walked away. Jorginho has 4.9 million Instagram followers and plays for Flamengo in Brazil, where Roan is performing at Lollapalooza. He's spent his entire career being recognized by kids who want to confirm it's really him. His statement reads like a professional public figure explaining exactly how recognition encounters work and why this one was handled wrong. The security apparatus Roan built to protect herself from genuine threats now treats every interaction as a potential violation. She has a perimeter. And perimeters make enemies out of the people who built everything inside them.
Pop Base@PopBase

Brazilian footballer Jorginho says Chappell Roan’s security guard spoke to his wife and daughter in an “extremely aggressive manner” while they were staying at the same hotel as the singer. He said his daughter recognized Chappell and “simply walked past the singer’s table” to confirm it was her, prompting the security guard to approach their table and tell his wife she shouldn’t allow her daughter to “disrespect” or “harass” other people. He added that the guard said he would file a complaint with the hotel.

@jamesdsmitth They came in with an ego and all-knowing attitude despite having no clue how football works at the top level. They brought in ideas from finance and foolishly believed it could work in football. Their arrogance and stubbornness is hurting the club, the fans have to fight back!

@CFCDaily Isn’t that what football is all about? Madrid was 2 mins away from being eliminated by City in the UCL the last time they won it. Pep’s great Barcelona dynasty might never have happened if it wasn’t for Obrevo. It’s all fine margins.

Twitter needs a ‘fooled by the Club World Cup’ filter. Separate the morons with the realists. The team that currently sits 6th was one defeat or draw away from coming 6th last season.

@CFCDaily You wanted Maresca gone so don't try to pull the wool over anyone's eyes! Maresca made the most of what he had, stop trying to discredit what he achieved. The squad that started this season is significantly worse than last but Maresca kept them competitive.

@NiiNiiFC Rosenior hasn't shown he's good enough for Chelsea, so just sticking with a manager because of continuity is ridiculous. There has to be a change, hopefully it happens at boardroom level too with the SDs.

Sorry terry, sacking rosenior does fuck all, he'll just get replaced by another head coach clone, hes just another victim from the mess created Sacking Rosenior is short term feel good vibes, were past the point of thinking someone saves the situation, whether its the "dream" manager or "dream signings" the reality is sooo clear, the environment is not conducive to success! who create the environment of a football club? no success can be found from this naive, arrogant model! fans not focusing on this reality, inadvertently enables the mediocrity to continue, when eyes are always on the ground and never above Sack Rosenior, and Chelsea will just recycle the same failure under a different face

The appointment of Liam Rosenior is shaping up to be one of the most self-inflicted disasters we’ve seen from an ownership in the Premier League. He must be sacked & BlueCo must be forced out

@TheBlueDodger Think that part is Fabrizio waffling. No way the squad is going to be built for him. Was never built for Maresca or Pochetino. It is Champions league football or he goes.

I really don't get the 'squad built for him' part. Isn't that a major contradiction of what we've been told? That the manager should be interchangeable and the style of play stays the same, etc. What a mess.
Chelsea Dodgers@TheBlueDodger

🚨 The message I have from Chelsea is there's no imminent change on Liam Rosenior, and they still support him. This isn't a squad built for him, so there are some points to remember when it's time to judge him. They want to be in CL next season. (@FabrizioRomano) #CFC

@TheBlueDodger Exactly 💯! After burning their way through many managers and handing a novice a 6 year contract they're trying to spin it once again. It's a desperate attempt to save face after hiring a clearly inept manager.

@SkySportsPL Exactly, so if the players aren't listening to Maresca and they aren't listening to Rosenior than its on them. The players need to come out and speak to the fans and fans need to question them instead of media Press Conference

@Louis_Beneventi @Dannythefink It's time to start boycotting games, let the stands be empty for home games then they'll start taking us seriously. Poor leadership & recruitment, we're a few seasons from becoming the next Spurs. It might sound like I'm overreacting but it's a distinct possibility.

Potter-esque. Downed tools. And a side embarrassed. Chelsea are completely decimated at Everton, with a coach who shouldn’t be in the role and showcasing he’s out of his depth. Sporting Directors need to go, and the ownership need to admit their mistakes. - #CFC #EPL #EVECHE

@Louis_Beneventi I agree! The current team has mostly been together for 2 years but for them to look this bad takes some doing. Rosenior has broken some bad long-standing records. We lost by the largest margin ever in Europe, it's also the first time we've lost 4 games on the spin since 1993.

@imCbty_ @iamrahmanosman Again he's the biggest problem right now, he made the team worse! All semblance of structure or discipline has disappeared. The SDs were handpicked by the owners and are following instructions, the ideal scenario would be for all of them to be sacked along with Liam.

@Ephsquare @iamrahmanosman Yes Liam is not Chelsea standard and even if they sack him no Elite coach will take this Chelsea job without being a YES man, so yes Liam is not good for Chelsea but the truth is he’s the least of our problems and I’m sure every fan here knows this

@NiiNiiFC The owners have to rein back the SDs, they're far too powerful. Maresca has earned the right to get some profiles he prefers through the door. He's already got a taste for winning and knows he needs more experienced players not kids in key areas to get to the next level.

Seun backs managers. He is asking for the sack. I back managers. I asked for the sack after the PSG 2nd leg It's telling. Like I said, our players are mistake prone but Maresca was crucified for playing safe football by trying to minimize and hide those mistakes of our players. Rosenior is exposing those weaknesses. No structure OOP No width, wings are literally vacant No movements in space This team looks undercoached while at least under Maresca we had a structure and were losing games due to one off errors from the defenders. Right now it's all a mess. Feels like I'm back to watching Poch ball with no structure and chaos Maresca was overperforming as I have always maintained. He did not get the respect he deserved

End of this season we need both these directors out The Vision they been trying to create has to be seen for what it is - Shit! They’ve shown a consistent pattern of pushing managers to leave due to irreconcilable differences This creates a cycle of hurting the team, there’s no fucking consistency of ideas over the long term to build upon and improve It’s compounded now with what we’re seeing with Rosenior He’s become another scapegoat of the directors creation This is why we’ve not progressed or developed in 4 years now, what’s developing long term outside of these Ls? Fuck me it’s simple SACK both directors, get Egbahli off running the club and restart again by hiring a director with 1 singular idea
