@Mezcal_Worm @Acab_Rickee @IwriteOK Calfire has one of the largest firefighting fleets in the world, I am not sure what the federal fleet looks like both the Forest Service and Airforce both have significant fleets working the LA fires, My hometown of 15,000 has 2 bombers currently flying.

Since @realDonaldTrump bought Mar-a-Lago in 1985, there have been 18 Category 5 Atlantic hurricanes. 4 of them made landfall in the US while he was President. Yet today he says he's never heard of there being Cat 5 hurricanes.

@JoshuaPHilll I think this is probably false. Eastern culture is a vast departure. At least a Western billionaire still probably likes to watch football and eat pizza.

@FreyaHolmer @OmanTheHuman1 I still use my ADD descriptor as that was what they called it back when I got my diagnosis and I very much do not have the H. (These days the diagnosis would be ADHD inattentive type.)

@OmanTheHuman1 yeah I know I just feel weird saying ADHD because I've never been hyperactive and there is a subcategory that apparently doesn't have the H part, and so I feel like ADD is more descriptive and people still know what I mean

if I went through a professional psychological evaluation for ADD and autism, if you had to guess, do you think I'd be diagnosed with any of them?

@WhippyNotPoopy no its not amazing its just a form of "jumping onto the drama train to get a piece of the attention" other engines doing this for years, now unity does it too, did a lot of good things but that doesnt matters anymore. one bad decission=all good decissions getting ignored.

@CheshiresPurr @tha_rami If you google "how to make x genre of game." you are going to see helpful people going over it in the Unity forums, great free Unity youtube tutorials, and a bunch of amazing 3rd party tools in the Unity asset store.

@CheshiresPurr @tha_rami There are a lot of factors to consider. Programing language of choice, toolset, price, complexity, etc. I think the biggest one is the community of other devs using the engine though, and that is something that Unity has done a great job of supporting in the past,

@spacetwinks I have not spent a lot of time with the genre, but I played the most recent Forza Horizon game for a bit, and it felt like at its base it is a really good drive around and look at pretty stuff game, with a big layer of numbers go up, and icon chasing on top.

alright, now i gotta ask other people for game recs, since this is a genre i have minimal experience with: what are good driving games where a great part of the experience is *exploration*? or driving for its own sake, existing in a world, not just racing.

@tha_rami It always seems like the people actually developing interesting tools and techniques are excited to share, while the people who found a good sentence to draw a robot with boobs must hold on to their valuable knowledge.

@tha_rami I do feel like there are some good little pockets of community around stable diffusion that feel like they have a lot of nice oldschool open source ethos to them, that keep me hoping that there is some potential for at least a little branch of AI art to be something interesting.
