Ukrainian Ambassador Dr. Olexander Scherba sent them a response. Your Excellency, Mr. Ambassador, Since you notified the Embassy of Ukraine of the book of condolences for the deceased Ayatollah Khamenei and Iran’s military leadership, I feel compelled to remind you of the following. As military allies of the Russian Federation, the deceased leaders of Iran had on their hands the blood of thousands of Ukrainian citizens – men and women, children and elderly – killed with the help of the infamous Iran-made “Shahed” drones and other military know-how so eagerly provided to Russia by your government. Your leaders were complicit in bringing endless grief to Ukrainian civilians. Being a person of faith, I try not to rejoice in the death of other people, even those who chose to be tormentors of my country, who did nothing bad to theirs. But as someone who has spent three years to the tune of Iran-created machines of death howling every night in the sky over Kyiv and other peaceful Ukrainian cities, I cannot help but wish for every culprit to meet the justice they deserve. The Iranian regime is savagely attacking the civilian population in Israel, just as it's attacking the neighboring Arab states. This is yet another demonstration of why such an extremist regime cannot be allowed to amass enormous amounts of ballistic missiles, with ranges reaching even to Europe, and whose armies it has labeled as terrorist organizations. This regime is dangerous to its own people, to the entire region, and to the whole world.

The end of the Ayatollah must signal the end of the age of dictators in Iran. After 47 years, it must be time for freedom. For all those murdered, executed and forcibly disappeared; For all those children made to grow up in fear of the regime's shackles; For all those mothers forced to comb through bloody basements piled high with the bodies of innocents as they searched for loved ones;  For the generations of Iranians who had to flee their homes and live in exile; For every political prisoner tortured, executed or unjustly imprisoned; For women, life, liberty. For Jina Mahsa Amini. For every voice forever silenced;  For every son summarily hanged from a crane in a public square; For every innocent European held hostage in horrific conditions by the terrorists in the IRGC; For all the victims of the proxies of terror that the regime trained, financed, supplied and supported as they murdered thousands across the Middle East and the world over the last two generations; For all those for whom the struggle for freedom is not political or a cause célèbre but existential; For all those who want the people of Iran to bask in light rather than remain shrouded in darkness; Now, Iran must be free.

Israel's Security Cabinet, led by Prime Minister @netanyahu, made the only correct decision early this morning for the security of Israel and the future of our people. Inaction would have been far more dangerous than the decision to act, despite the significant risks involved. The time to act is now. Delay would have allowed the Iranian regime to reach a level of immunity for its nuclear program, as well as to engage in the mass production of long-range ballistic missiles. The Iranian people are not our enemy. Their aspiration and heroic struggle for freedom in the face of ruthless oppression - are worthy of admiration. The enemy is the fanatical, murderous Iranian regime, which has inscribed the elimination of Israel on its banner and has consistently worked to carry out that objective. The partnership with our great friend and ally, the United States of America led by @POTUS, is unprecedented in its depth and significance. We still stand together in these days that test our national resolve, and with God’s help, we will succeed because “the Eternity of Israel will not lie.” Best of luck to the IDF and to all our security forces!

I had a call with @gidonsaar to thank Israel for supporting our UNGA resolution today. This is about supporting life, peace, and truth. We discussed our bilateral agenda and common security challenges, including those posed by Iran. I expressed gratitude for Israel’s humanitarian assistance during this difficult winter, particularly 117 mobile generators that will be provided to the Kyiv region tomorrow.
