Let me answer this from the aspect of ilaje, being a subgroups of Yoruba. We usually refer to it as GBÍGBÈ. Because, when we allow our stuff to Gbè, they become fermented. Either for consumption or discard. We can now have the following: Fermentation: GBÍGBÈ Fermented: ÈGBÈ/ÈGBÍGBÈ Ferment: GBÈ. Now, let me use some practical examples for you. In a garri factory, the garri is soaked(RẸ̀KẸ̀) inside a bowl of water to enhance fermentation(GBÍGBÈ) , after 3 days, this products would already be ferment(GBÈ). The fermented (ÈGBÈ) products is what's drid into the garri products we have. So, this same words can be adopted for general Yorùbá use . As this same fermentation process is widely used in preparing many products, like Eragiri(fermented fish products), Garri, Ogurọ(Palm wine), Etc......
Ademuyiwa Adebola anipr@ThisIsAdemuyiwa

What is the yoruba word for fermentation? NB: Yorubas eat a lot of fermented foods which means our ancestors were brilliant scientists in their own way.

Again modesty is a construct. Read your history. Nigeria is too hot for all these nonsense. How many people fit afford Ac sef. Let’s start with light; how many areas have up to 12 hours of light daily

People often say, “Women in the older generation had 12 or 15 children, worked the farms daily, and never rested.” But that’s not the full story, it’s part of the reason maternal mortality has been so high in many parts of Africa. Many of those women endured complications, pain, and difficult pregnancies in silence. They pushed their bodies beyond safe limits, not because they were fine, but because they had no choice, rest was labeled as laziness, and no one spoke up for them. Strength was expected, even when it came at the cost of their health, and sometimes their lives. So no, rest is not weakness. It is far better to be called “lazy” than to risk your life trying to prove a point to people who won’t bear the consequences.

This is what happens when people think evolution means every fossil should look like a Pokémon upgrade. Some lineages stay broadly similar for very long periods, and fossil members of Apis are explicitly described as morphologically similar to living honey bees. Evolution is in the lineage, genetics, and accumulated change, not your demand for a cartoon transformation.

You are fighting new wars with old tactics. Ground assaults will not win this war, what will win the war is sustained air strikes. If we dont have the capacity, speak to ur guy in France to either help with planes or munitions. We cant keep setting up our soldiers for ambush.

Africa’s most honest architecture is increasingly coming from its women. Nzinga B. Mboup grew up between Mozambique, Cameroon, South Africa and Senegal. She saw what colonial urbanism did to African cities. Then she decided to build differently. Her practice Worofila works with compressed earth bricks, typha plant fiber, and self-supporting earthen vaults, materials that have kept people cool in West Africa for centuries. In Dakar, where concrete dominates because it’s cheap and politically convenient, that is a radical act. She puts it plainly: “Why did we ever stop building with earth?” Nobody has a good answer. Why was the host shouting like that? We as a country need to move past all these shame and stigma surrounding sex and masturbation and it is true that it releases stress. I honestly think people should touch themselves more.

First of all, the woman you’re referring to is divorced... She no longer has a husband, so her situation is completely different from someone who is married. It’s unrealistic to expect that she should simply remarry just for the sake of sex. Also there are women who are widows still around her age.. Not everyone wants to go through the process of marriage again, especially at that stage in life after already experiencing it, possibly raising children, and losing a partner. For many people, that chapter is closed. There are also other options available. Some people choose things like sex toys, and that is a personal decision. No one is forcing anyone to use them, but they exist for a reason. Others may choose to have a responsible, respectful sexual partner without entering a full relationship or marriage. At the end of the day, sex is a normal and natural part of life. It is not exclusive to marriage, regardless of personal or religious beliefs. Legally and socially, as long as it is consensual and responsible, there is nothing inherently wrong with it. It’s also important to recognize that people have autonomy over their own lives. A woman in her 50s should be able to decide for herself how she wants to live, including whether or not she wants companionship, intimacy, or neither. That choice should not be dictated by societal expectations or fear of judgment. What works for one person may not work for another. Some may choose abstinence, some may remarry, and others may prefer a more independent arrangement. None of these choices are inherently wrong. Framing this issue as if there is only one “correct” way to live is outdated. Times have changed, and people now approach relationships, sex, and personal fulfillment in more diverse ways. Ultimately, it comes down to respect. Respect for individual choice, boundaries, and the understanding that adulthood includes the freedom to make personal decisions without unnecessary shame or judgment.
