Adolescents, especially in urban and higher-income settings, are frequently exposed to tobacco ads Anti-tobacco messages are also reaching youth through traditional and social media The challenge now is to shift the balance toward positive, prevention-focused messaging. #DaYTAKE

Kenyan adolescents access tobacco from multiple sources, most commonly stores, peers, and even family members. Manufactured and smokeless tobacco are often bought in shops, roll-your-own cigarettes are mostly shared, and many teens get e-cigarettes from within the home. #DaYTAKE

Family behaviors matter: adolescents living with family members who use tobacco face a significantly higher risk of using these products themselves. Lower household education levels also contribute to increased vulnerability. #DaYTAKE

Adolescent tobacco use in Kenya is shaped by multiple factors, from gender and age to family habits and social environment. Findings from the DaYTA survey show that boys and rural adolescents are more likely to use tobacco or nicotine products. #DaYTAKE
