The U.S. Department of State is aware of the reported kidnapping of an American journalist in Baghdad, Iraq. The State Department previously fulfilled our duty to warn this individual of threats against them and we will continue to coordinate with the FBI to ensure their release as quickly as possible.   An individual with ties to the Iranian-aligned militia group Kataib Hizballah believed to be involved in the kidnapping has been taken into custody by Iraqi authorities. Iraq remains at a Level 4 Travel Advisory and Americans are advised not to travel to Iraq for any reason and to leave Iraq now.   The State Department strongly advise all Americans, including members of the press, to adhere to all travel advisories.

@FrancisXRocca I think it'll be used, and the origins mostly forgotten. "Hold your horses," "Rule of thumb," "CC," "Burning the midnight oil," "hang up (the phone)" are all based on outdated meanings and are still in use. (Can you tell I've already thought about this kind of thing?)

How long before everyone has forgotten the origin of “broken record” as an idiom for repetitiousness? Will future generations assume it comes from sports, and puzzle over the connection? Will they simply stop using it? Or will the return of vinyl keep it alive?

@Rainmaker1973 Easy: 33 and 88. Just look at the columns, which are multiples of 9. You see which ones are off and then it's way to find the numbers that'd been skipped.
