@avgjoe129 @ShoeShineBoy11 @erik_thorvalds Ideally, it should be based on population. So every riding nationwide should have roughly the same amount of voters. For example, there are ridings in Alberta that have more voters than PEI, and PEI has 4 ridings. Also every province should have the same number of senators.
English

@ShoeShineBoy11 @erik_thorvalds How much more should AB have ? Give solutions not just sit the and bitch.

I've been fielded many times today the question of what happens if YES loses the Independence Referendum?
This could happen, especially with the millions of imported voters into Alberta this past decade.
Heritage Albertans are arguably already a minority.
So what do we do?
We don't despair. We get right to work. We follow Québec's playbook:
Alberta Firewall: RCMP out, our own Pension Plan, EI, Revenue Agency, full immigration control, firearms license. We force it through any party vehicle available.
Alberta tax collection sovereignty: Tell the CRA to pound sand and collect federal taxes. Refuse to remit full GST/HST or federal tax revenues until Firewall demands are met— we force Ottawa to negotiate like Québec does.
Launch Bloc Alberta: a federal party that extracts concessions like the Bloc Québécois, unlike the sellout CPC.
Build a rural Firewall against Edmonton's imported voters, giving decision-making capabilities to rural Albertans for rural Alberta, and explore making Edmonton a separate city-state/province.
Rural referendum: Energy royalties stay in producing communities, not sent to feed bloated Edmonton government bureaucracies.
Encourage rural municipalities to pass sovereignty resolutions and withhold portions of property taxes earmarked for provincial urban programs.
Energy export leverage: Coordinate with industry to prioritize US/Alberta-friendly pipelines and contracts, starving federal revenue indirectly.
International outreach: Build formal ties with sympathetic US states (Texas, Alaska, Montana) and energy nations for trade/recognition prep—show the world Alberta stands alone if needed.
Launch Alberta Heritage Schools initiative: Teach real provincial history (no Ottawa whitewashing) in community centers to lock in the next generation.
Crowdfund a dedicated sovereignty legal team to sue over referendum irregularities or federal overreach.
We double down on grassroots solidarity and activism in every town, ranch, and oil patch community.
We keep organizing, educating, and pushing for the next fair referendum.
I am never going to stop pushing for Alberta Independence.
As well: This is a contingency thought experiment. Focus is solely on winning the 2026 Alberta Independence Referendum. I am merely scanning the horizon to see what paths we will take as a movement if things don't go our way.

@drShaileshSingh @VishnuFNO I can't believe the amount of times I've been told by "medical experts" that Ivermectin will cure my astrocytoma. Closely followed by "Vitamin B17". 🙄
English

If you search the internet hard enough, you would find people making claims like diabetes caused by liver flukes, heavy metal detox curing diabetes, ivermectin curing cancer.
Each person making such claims has a paper published in the "Random Journal of Parallel Medical Sciences" to attach as a link.

Me: "Your LDL is 180. We need to start a statin."
Patient: "I don't want chemicals. I'll control it with diet."
Me: "Okay. See you in 3 months."
3 months later:
LDL: 185.
Diet: Same.
Exercise: None.
Patient: "Maybe I need something stronger than diet."
We lost 3 months. The plaque didn't wait.

@DebbieTheilmann @truckdriverpleb Yup. Freeland literally tried to rebrand it as a "vibe-cession"
English

@truckdriverpleb Carney already had Canada heading towards a recession before Trudeau left. No one wanted to admit it. Carney had stated it prior to becoming PM that Canada was in a recession.
English

@JohnMcLellan3 @JinglaiHe Nope. Parliament isn't sitting over the summer.
English

@LeeRichardscfc @heyJanuu @Starlink Same thing! It said I was 42 degrees out. But when I went up on the roof, it would no longer show alignment data.

@RadioGenoa Centuries ago.... The primary suspects would be Protestant iconoclasts. Not so much these days.

@ThomasEDavis10 @coachcoffman @MastodonMBB @BrettRumpSports @John_G_Nolan I do like that name though!
English

Can we get some opinions on nicknames for @MastodonMBB @EricMulder11 ?
@BrettRumpSports & @John_G_Nolan
“F150”
E. Michigan broadcast— “junkyard dawg”
English

@coachcoffman @MastodonMBB @BrettRumpSports @John_G_Nolan I don't think I am the Eric Mulder you are looking for. I'm not that good at basketball. Sorry!

@GrammasGarden14 @KerrieNation @MondeeRedman @riamarismith @princepolity Also with DTC you become eligible for a RDSP account and the associated grants.
English

@KerrieNation @MondeeRedman @riamarismith @princepolity What I should have clarified is that you do get a benefit by applying the DTC to previous tax forms filed. You can back file it up to 10 years if you would have qualified for those years as well.

English

@Sarah_Colero Yeah... $200/month. That's going to lift us out of poverty. 🙄
English

@Bratt_world @WallStreetSilv Someone I know showed me a picture of gas prices in Oklahoma right now. 2.99USD/gallon. Works out to about 1.07CAD/litre

Justin Trudeau has sent police to stop the Canadian protesters from BLOCKING the highway.
The Liberal government of Justin Trudeau is raising carbon taxes by 23%.
Canadians can barely afford to buy groceries right now so I don't know how they will afford more taxes.
How will the farmers survive with this high of an increase in carbon taxes?
Get rid of Justin Trudeau.
🚨🚨🚨
English

@JustinTrudeau And Liberals won't tell you that most Canadians are worse off according to the parliamentary budget officer.
English

@Quotes4better_ @historyinmemes Why couldn’t he have just did the same thing with a weighted rock or something?

@BertaBoyUtah @miketgould Chick fil a has some locations in Ontario already, and will be opening a few in Alberta this year :)
English

@miketgould Both kinda suck. I wish Canada had chick fil a, Culver's, Jimmy John's, jersey Mike's... Subway is so shitty compared to those two joints. What I've noticed though is Wendy's and a&w and mcdicks are worse in the states though
English

@northchickenyeg Seriously going to miss your WNFA chicken and cornbread. Nowhere else in town is close to as good! :(
Reminded me of Howlin Rays!
All the best in the future though!
English

@cctvidiots Depending on the cut of steak anywhere from 1-3. For example I cook a lean steak like fillet blue to rare, whereas a fattier steak like ribeye is better at medium rare.
English

@Sarah_Colero I hope this goes well for you! I know the pain of getting a new neurologist all too well!
