🇷🇺🇺🇦 CRAZY FOOTAGE: An interceptor drone was hunting for prey … but upon nearing the alleged drone, it turned out to be a stork! The drone operator did not even have a chance; the stork evaded the attack like a pro and flew away. WOW, nice …

If we're able to ramp @HYTOPIA back up once we get our refund, seeing a polished / punchy multiplayer shooter like this on the platform could really be interesting for growth/user acquisition 🤔

@PLA_MilitaryUpd SM-6 and THAAD can handle those.😏 And either way even if a war broke out, directly targeting assets deep in each other's mainland will be higher up on the escalation ladder and may not happen at all.

It was actually one of the only 2 NFT projects (another was world mobile) that I didn’t lost money. the final alarm to me was when team started the node sale. I figured out it was a “pure money grab scam”! I sold all the staking earning none stop & sold all Hytopia worlds step by step after that (I was a whale too). All my liquidity pool stake was 2 years which helped me recover a lot.

Thanks for playing, @hytopia community. Anyone who entered this ecosystem over the past 5 years and stayed around through the three paid mints and at least three token pivots has literally lost their shit. The team has been fumbling around blind for years, trying to figure out how to build utility into multiple NFT collections around a token that never had any utility around an unfinished gaming platform that never had any users. I was once the largest holder here with 1.5M 'invested' into the NFTs. I exited with about a year and a half ago, 65% down. I still have 600 nodes I minted a year and a half ago, only to find out the team 'rugged' all utility by removing the token vesting (which was the selling point). But at least I got something out; most didn't. Sadly, most gaming communities have just been used as a human farm to extract capital from. Buying an NFT and joining a community does not make you anything but a resource. The original NFT World mint was free. The other three were not. Three token name changes, 3 pivots in 3 years, 99% of all the NFT utility from each mint replaced with diminished versions or no utility at all. Let's take away what you paid for, rename it, give you far less, and tell you it's for the good of the community and project. And instead of just releasing the tokens, no, let's find further ways to increase the supply, while restricting the NFT vesting that was paid for via mints. Sounds like a familiar strategy used by teams who rug? I'm not saying this was the classic raise money and vanish into the wind kind of scam. The team legit put the treasury into trying to build out an open gaming world. I do not dispute that. But what was built was an unfinished open-source Roblox wannabe game engine that sort of worked, but never worked enough to actually build real products on. With zero working web3 layers, which was kind of the entire original premise. From the Minecraft metaverse to a Layer 2 gaming chain to an AI-vibe-coded Roblox copycat, @hytopia has tried to do anything and everything. Alas, none of it had any chance of working. The team drew a nice living salary for five years. The community goes to the soup kitchen. It's how most of these gaming stories end up. Not the first, and by far not the last. A lot of things went wrong here, and the team kept on fumbling to build any sort of working ecosystem. Every solution they came out with required yet another NFT mint and a complete pivot. When you see a web team renege on promises and rejig tokenomics, start running for the door. Sadly, those who stuck around, minted and held assets, and trapped themselves in this dying ecosystem over the past 5 years can take comfort in knowing that their sacrifice has not been in vain. You will have helped contribute to the 1-line paragraph in the founder's new LinkedIn update. It's kind of ironic that they survived a cease and desist from Microsoft by building an NFT-powered gaming platform on Minecraft without permission, yet are closing shop because of an unpaid tax bill. Sorry, community, taxes and all. The irony writes itself. Now watch the team invariably pivot, yet again, but this time out of web3, away from their obligations, and into a new AI startup.

Hello Hytopians, As many of you know from weekly updates, HYTOPIA is currently waiting on a large tax refund from the IRS. Without these funds, we are unable to continue covering the operational costs required to keep the project running in its current state. We expected this refund to be resolved sooner, especially as we have been in communication with the IRS and have confirmed that the process is underway. In the meantime, our founders, @Temptranquil and @ArkDev, have been personally funding the project's operations for some time in an effort to keep things moving. At this point, we are forced to temporarily pause HYTOPIA's infrastructure while we wait for the funds to be released. This means hytopia.com and other HYTOPIA-related websites and services will be taken offline for the time being in order to reduce hosting and operational costs. Separately, our lack of operational funding has also contributed to an ongoing dispute with the HY Foundation regarding unpaid invoices. As a result, certain token-related deliverables are currently delayed while we work toward a resolution. We are actively working to settle on an amount that makes sense for both parties and to have the tokens released into the smart contracts they were originally intended for. As a reminder, the HY Foundation is a separate entity from HYTOPIA. While we are actively engaged in resolving the matter, there are parts of this process that are not entirely within our direct control. We currently expect downtime to last roughly 1–3 months while the IRS refund process is completed. Once the funds are received, we will provide another update with a clearer plan for next steps. We understand this is difficult news, and we know it may create frustration, uncertainty, and concern within the community. We are doing everything we can to navigate this responsibly and transparently. For now, we ask that everyone take it day by day with us. As always, your support means everything to us. ❤️ Team HYTOPIA

The world has changed. War. Instability. Claude. Crypto crashing. CT dying. Took some time to reposition over 2026 and seek out the next new narrative. It was the right move on my part. Had some great success going back to the drawing board. So even in a dead market where everyone is mostly losing their shirts, it's possible to find winners. But, imo, you need to have a good long-term thesis on what to invest in and hold on to that conviction to make asymmetrical returns. Hint: it won't by buying the bundled coin of the week your KOL shills you, though. THE PAST I spent years investing in the NFT meta, then got caught up in the Web3 gaming riptide. I made a lot of money being right. And I lost almost as much, being so convinced I was right that I didn't get off the trade, didn't sell. I set up as a permanent resident in those narratives, and when the country ceased to be one, I found I was living on a sinking island and needed some time to find a new place to live, a new narrative to sink my teeth into. So don't be like Grail, so fixed on your winning narrative that you let that narrative decay to nothing. Because there is always a new narrative forming, and you just have to catch it and be early. You need to keep an open mind. There's always a new narrative forming, always a new potential runner in the making before anyone even knows. History does not repeat, but it rhymes 2017, the year of the ICO 2020, defi summer 2021-2023, NFTs, gaming 2024-2025, Memcoins + AI 2026 ? THE FUTURE: THE NEXT MILLION-DOLLAR BET There are some narrative winds pushing in these directions: 1) Prediction Markets (the only real PMF for crypto yet, sans stablecoins) 2) AI (this season flavors being agentive finance) 3) RWA (always, on the verge of a breakout, never quite happening) Personally, I've been betting on Predictive Markets, looking for a way to get exposure early on into new kinds of prediction markets. I am not much interested in YAVPM (yet another vanilla prediction market) product. If you are building the 10th or 20th prediction market, or the third copy-pasta prediction market on a new chain, good luck. Whoever wins the prediction market wars comes down to distribution -- the ability to scale to many users, likely by integrating directly into the platforms where users frequent, in which the prediction can be added. Good luck at overtaking Polymarket or Kalashi at this point -- if that's your goal, I'll light a candle at your funeral. All the big platforms that own users will probably build their own prediction markets to capture full control. Not going in that direction. I am looking at prediction markets that do something new and serve untapped markets. Products that appeal to new markets, products that can fundamentally utilize blockchain to serve the product to both a web2 AND web3 market. It's a big challenge, but this is an area I'm interested in. MY BET Betting on the prediction market narrative has been my main focus over 2026, and I've managed to make the right bet over the past six months, turning a modest five-figure bet into nearly a seven-figure one. I've been increasing my position, and am solidly betting I've landed one of the big winners of 2026. Still early, but I think there is a chance I can turn this bet into an 8-figure win by the end of 2026, provided the markets don't vomit. Bet on the winners who will continue to conquer. I'll dig into my thesis here next, and where I'm putting my capital to position myself

Recent conflicts reveal limitations in some Chinese-exported air defenses. Iran's HQ-9B (and similar systems) failed to counter US-Israeli precision strikes on Tehran facilities this month, echoing Pakistan's HQ-9B shortcomings vs Indian ops in Sindur and Venezuela's JY-27A radars missing US aircraft in Jan. Vulnerabilities likely stem from EW dominance, stealth integration gaps, and limited real combat testing. Not proof all Chinese weapons are inferior—affordable options suit many buyers, and domestic tech advances rapidly—but these cases underscore real-world performance questions.

🇨🇳🇮🇷 China's military exports just got the worst combat review in history Iran bought Chinese air defense technology expecting a shield. What it got was a screen door. The pattern is devastating. Pakistan's Chinese-made HQ-9B couldn't detect a single Indian strike during Operation Sindur. Venezuela's Chinese radar missed 150 American aircraft flying through its airspace. And now Iran's air defenses, built on the same Chinese foundations, collapsed in hours against the U.S.-Israeli assault. But the hardware is only half the problem. Over 20 senior PLA officers have been arrested for corruption in two years. China hasn't fought a real war since 1979. Their weapons have never been stress-tested because the military selling them has never been stress-tested either. Source: BusinessBasics YT
