Still waiting for someone to help me with my apparent confusion re BC FN land titles. 1) Feb. 20 2026 agreement recognizes Musqueam title to lands *explicitly* including ƛ̓əqtinəs aka Tl'uqtinus. 2) Cowichan Tribes v. Canada (Attorney General), 2025 BCSC 1490 awarded title to lands including Tl'uqtinus to the Cowichan FN. Do the 'Great White Fathers' have any idea what they're doing?

On March 21st, in Liaoning Province, a petitioner's live stream on Douyin (TikTok) was banned after only 10 minutes. Enraged, he shouted: "You trash platforms don't let people speak! You're bullying us! You've turned society into a prison! I've already had 20 accounts banned! This rogue country, I curse you!" "I'm over 60 years old, with no medical or social security. My company's 4.87 million yuan was taken by the Communist Party thugs, and I haven't been able to get it back in 26 years. I've petitioned over 300 times. Now I'm trying to make a living by live streaming on Douyin, and you ban my account! Are you trying to kill me?! This bandit country will never be civilized!" "In this world, befriend whoever is a rogue. If you're a rogue, a bandit, and a tyrant, this country is like a prison, and we're all hostages." Finally, the man's live stream was banned by Douyin.

You would think the party claiming to be for Canadian workers would be against mass immigration.

When we ask the government to stand up to corporations, we shouldn't be worried that they've got a profit motive to look the other way. But that's exactly what the BC NDP is allowing. Meet your Al minister, Rick Glumac. #bcpoli #bcndp

Would it matter to you if your cellphone provider were forced to preserve information about where and when you used your phone, and who you were in touch with, for possible use by police? Why I think this new power in Bill C-22 violates the Charter: robertdiab.ca/posts/metadata…

@Jleerankin @TorontoStar If 'guilty' people are walking free due to police/justice system corruption, maybe others are being imprisoned for the same reason.

If you read this, one of the concerns is that the FOI process has gotten more adversarial. No shit. But rather than blame the people seeking information (who are putting in broad requests, etc.) perhaps look at the govt who are offering less and less proactive disclosures. It's hard to narrow down what you're looking for (one of the concerns raised) when you don't have a starting point. Rather than further gutting the FOI process, or providing more excuses for the govt to reject requests, perhaps changing the culture to encourage more disclosure would be better. The idea that govt should be more open by default with regards to its operations on behalf of the public seems to be entirely missing from this line of reasoning. That this is coming from the independent privacy commissioner (who should be in favour of more, not less govt information being available) is unsettling. This is a really well done piece & it highlights how competing interests tend to drag down resource development projects in BC. It also shows what happens when economic leadership at the provincial government level is lacking. The problems laid out here can usually be solved - if there's someone to provide the momentum. 🔗👇

CBC on climate change. Couple of things they missed: chance of an El Nino in 2026 is given as 62% (source in follow-up). "Potential strength remains very uncertain, with a 1 in 3 chance that it would be 'strong' during October-December." So, a scorching start to Christmas then...
