I don't mean to single you out, cos a lot of people are saying this, but I think it's also plausible they knew about the injury but once their doctors got a look at it they decided it was worse than they expected. At that point, the whole building is reassessing the value. Could go either way, but I don't think it's just automatic this was Machiavellian and dirty.
