@NotoriousPeach The slacker archetype has almost entirely disappeared at this point in the 21st century. Tragic.
English

been doing anthropology on the 90s lately and as far as i can tell the hottest thing you could be back then was a slacker brunette in an oversized green army jacket. many examples of this archetype in their culture (daria, that one episode of the simpsons, etc)
mx jopping@remedialhagging
bought a jacket like this and it lowkey changed everything

@YeePlusHaw0 @dand0ri Before plumbing, bathwater was just in a container that you emptied. A babysized bath was probably emptied by tossing it out a window. Perhaps it was done literally at one point, like when parents leave their babies in the car in the spring time with thhe windows up.

@darcyserval In my car, you may find a gallon of milk secured with a seatbelt.
I bet a lot of people would find it endearing if someone they cared about instinctively braced them during hard braking. Learning that instinct from delivering pizza is very funny and beautifully human to me.
English

@Eric_Senpai1 I deliver pizzas so i just got used to reaching over when I brake hard

@CaptainDznuts Free roaming dogs should be euthanized on sight. Pepper spray was the humane option.

@BobSemp09343854 @kelley_geo24177 @Kowalko1 @Loquated No wait, i finally understand what the troglodyte was saying. Spin a coin on a table, like when you flick the edge so it spins until it wobbles and oscillate, approaching horizontal. He seriously thinks the coin wobbling is the axis of rotation changing directions randomly.
English

@kelley_geo24177 @Kowalko1 @Loquated Im genuinely trying to understand your point here. What do you mean "all over the table"?
English

Center of mass doesn’t have to be inside the boundaries of the object.

@malbenV1 @kelley_geo24177 @Astro_Eggcelent @Kowalko1 @Loquated Honestly, masterful tier trolling that I fell for, I'm taking notes for reference. Like, he has to have aced physics courses to say everything so perfectly incorrect? "It takes an expert to make this look amateur."
English

@Ikaros2205 @messedupfoods Ou don't rim the donut, eating it fron the center, outwards?
English

@messedupfoods A, obviously.
Nobody ever picked up a donut and look at it from the side.
It's simply due to inconvenience that you have to bite it from the side
English

@kelley_geo24177 @EllieMgs2 Dude, you can do this RIGHT NOW. A donut is like $1. Balance the donut.

@tanpukunokami I don't pay taxes on the moon, which I own in its entirety.

@HTGJava @MeatMench Completing homework and projects was so hard. Now I'm an adult and there's literally no homework? I make long-term plans and meet self appointed deadlines without issue, all that distress during school was for nothing.
English

@MeatMench Thats crazy for me they just said "hes really intelligent but he doesn't apply himself" year after year after year after year.
Never once thought that maybe I CANT fucking "apply myself" in the way they want me to
English

Being in special Ed was wild man. I remember during an especially stressful year, the principal let me bring my damn Xbox 360 to school and during lunch I got to play it alone in the office. granted it was school appropriate games but I thought it was awesome at the time.
Then when I read my documents from that time, their writings describe me like I was some sort of ticking time bomb they were delaying the explosion of. They legit thought without their intervention I would be a serial killer or something.

@Eric_Senpai1 @Paul812001 @markyzaguirre Miamis development was a recent thing. Post WW2. By then buildings could withstand hurricanes. Galveston in 1900 couldn’t
English

Manhattan is Manhattan because hurricanes don’t do periodic direct hits on NYC
Mark R. Brown, AICP, CNU@CompletedStreet
What if the massive 1900 hurricane didn't hit Galveston? It may have grown to be as significant as New Orleans, or even the Manhattan of the Gulf.

@chocolatechnica @Abbyoola Sometimes the chutes are locked shut because tenants weren't trusted to properly break down the trash before depositing it in the chute.
English

@5after12 @sumerassociate @IMAO_ The explanation is it makes em look slutty af, hell yeah get it bro.
English

@Paul812001 @markyzaguirre How do they do it? Why are the not Atlantis?
English

@markyzaguirre Miami gets hit by hurricanes and it has a huge skyline
