@BigBobsCards What’s wrong with that? People who agree to a deal and then continue to shop it around and eventually back out to sell for higher are scum. He obviously has no chance to win any kind of lawsuit but even just putting some fear into the heart of someone who does that is great imo.

Incredibly based nat, these same people 3-5 years ago were saying that cryptopunks, bored apes, and top shot moments were blue chip blockchain investments that would dethrone outdated physical cards. Now here we are today and all those garbage imaginary NFTS are down 90% from their peak while blue chip physical cards continue to smash all time highs.

Here's an update. In 2025, @PSAcard received 3,285 submissions of the 1986 Fleer #57 Michael Jordan rookie card for grading. Of those, 821 were deemed N4 (the inauthentic no grade code from @PSAcard). That puts the counterfeit rate at 24.99%, which is ~3% higher than 2023 when we last pulled the data. I'm going to pull the data on the 1984 Star #101 Jordan next...

@BowTiedRanger First off Griffey cards have absolutely not plummeted in value. Second, you don’t even need to be a fan of a specific player to want to buy their high end cards. Third, for every new 6 year old charizard fan there’s a new 6 year old basketball or football fan.

True, except Pokemon creates thousands of new fans a day and there’s nothing else close in terms of global competition right now. Pokemon is a closer comp to early Disney nostalgia than sportsball trading card nostalgia. The last time a new Ken Griffey Jr. fan was created was over 2 decades ago, which is why his trading cards have plummeted in value. Charizard doesn’t have that problem because millions of 6-year-olds per year have become fans over the past two decades. Pokemon still has higher to go.

@the27guy It’s actually very simple. An incredibly rare card being “hobby fresh” (first time it’s been publicly auctioned) matters a ton, especially for rare 90s stuff. That psa 5 was the first ever public sale of that card according to cardladder. That gave it a massive value boost.

Some cool insights from PSA for grading 2025 Prizm Football. What's interesting is that the set has a 61% gem rate through ~6,000 submissions, which would be by far its best ever, according to @gemrate. 2013 Prizm Football has the second-highest at 56%.

I disagree, look at OKC, they have been one of the most successful franchises in the league over the last 2 decades. The biggest free agent signing in their franchise history (by a large amount) is Isaiah Hartenstein. The reality is most players would rather win 40 games a year in Miami or LA than be on a contender in a boring city.

@yoda @gurucollects Higher grade would do probably do slightly more but doesn’t matter much, especially since this parallel is an incredibly difficult grade so even a perfectly maintained pack fresh copy would likely grade a 7 or 8 at best.

A collector was going through an old binder of cards where he stumbled across a true once in a lifetime find. Sitting in the binder, likely ever since it was pulled in 2007, was Kobe’s Topps Silver 1/1. Seeing this makes it hard not to wonder how many of these whales are still sitting in long lost collections. Similar thing happened to me a few months ago. Purchased a graded card that passed auth guarantee but when I went to send it in for a re-slab (case was old and scratched) the cert number was invalid and the card wasn’t even in the pop report. Luckily they manually added it after contacting support but kind of crazy the authenticator didn’t even check if the cert was active/valid before passing it.

Checking back on this. Ben Johnson improved Lions by about 7 points/game in his 1st year as OC. With 1 game to go, Bears are scoring 8.5 points/game more than they did in 2024. Lions, for what it's worth, are scoring 5.3 points/game less than they did with Johnson last year.

2021 and 2022 Detroit Lions had same QB, RB1, RB2, WR1, WR2, WR3, TE1, and TE2, and only 1 new starter on the OL. 2021 Lions: 19.1 points/game 2022 Lions: 26.6 points/game The clearest "this is the value of the offensive play caller" you'll ever see. Over a TD/game.

The Philip Rivers stuff is so dark for the sport of football. The NFL and CFB have so neglected QB development while defensive coverages and schemes have evolved that a fat grandpa is a better option than any team's QB3. If his body is even close to up to speed, I *agree* with the Colts that its probably right football move and I absolutely hate that the average young QB looks at a 2025 NFL defense and has no clue what they are seeing

@IamDajanae @MuseBarnes Well that’s exactly the point, the WNBA players who can go “skill for skill” with him are all between 5’10 and 6’4 150-190 pounds. In that clip he’s probably 6’8 200 so he was similarly skilled but exponentially bigger, stronger, and more athletic.

@CryptO_qp @redrock_bball Yes imo, he’s a very strong per minute producer (has consistently been hitting 20 h2h points while playing sub 20 minutes) and now should be a pretty safe bet to play 25+ minutes in games he isn’t in foul trouble or getting blown out. Seems like mid 20 minutes is queta’s ceiling
