You're right, brother Julius. A phone & a laptop can literally pay the bills today. But hnstly in our context, most youth still just use them for photos, vibes & social media. In that case, I think putting that money into a tangible business like agriculture makes way more sense.

THE TITLE "Your iPhone 17 Could Become an Investment" 😟🤯 I saw an article by @AgaciroPress this morning and honestly, I think our parents and leaders needs a more balanced conversation in 2026 about youth, technology, and investment. Telling young person that buying an iPhone 17 or a powerful laptop is automatically a “bad investment” feels outdated in 2026. Yes, agriculture matters. Yes, land, pigs, goats, and business matter. But not every young person is meant to farm or sell products physically. We are built with , Different talents. Different futures. unless the talk was strictly meant for (agriculture and livestock farming) not for public dissemination. Some young people today use phones and computers as production tools, not luxury items. A smartphone with internet access can teach coding, video editing, AI, digital marketing, trading, content creation, remote work, and global business. With consistency and active data, a smart young man or woman in Kigali can realistically earn $500–$5000 online monthly. That’s impossible with a hoe alone. The message should not be: “Don’t buy gadgets.” The message should be: “Use gadgets productively.” Because in today’s economy, for some people, an iPhone 17 IS the goat, the land, and the capital. You can build a thousand roads but if the minds driving on them aren’t sharp, competitive and disciplined, you’re just paving the path to mediocrity. Capacity building is the real foundation. @NewTimesRwanda #Rwox

Thank you to my sister President @SuluhuSamia for the warm welcome to Tanzania and for the productive discussions. Rwanda and Tanzania are not only neighbors but brotherly countries bound by history and a shared goal of prosperity for our people. Rwanda remains committed to building on this strong foundation by deepening our bilateral cooperation across trade, investment, infrastructure, logistics, energy, and regional integration. I look forward to continuing our collaboration to achieve tangible results for our citizens and advance the East African Community.

I think dismissing hygiene as a "small problem" is a massive blind spot. You can't fight those ...(Big deal issues and problems)... from a hospital bed. But context also matters. Imagine riding a bus for >3hrs from Kigali to Huye next to a stinking passenger!!😤

Y'all, sit down and pay attention to this?? Smh. Bro, youth face problems that are bigger than this. Ibibazo nya bi bazo broo (Big deal issues and problems).

Facts On Rwanda

RWANDA stories HOW IS RWANDA ENGINEERING A NUCLEAR FUTURE FROM SCRATCH? | A Facts On Rwanda Report Unlike many countries that enter nuclear energy by simply importing and constructing a power plant, Rwanda is taking a far more strategic long route: building an entire nuclear ecosystem from the ground up. This signals that Kigali is not just pursuing electricity, it is positioning itself for a future role in global nuclear science and innovation. FROM ENERGY PROJECT TO NATIONAL INDUSTRY Most emerging economies treat nuclear as a single project. Rwanda is doing the opposite. The country is in Phase 1 of the International Atomic Energy Agency milestones approach, focusing first on institutions, laws, and human capacity before any reactor is built. This means developing: • Regulatory frameworks • Nuclear safety systems • Skilled workforce • Research institutions A “foundation-first” model ensuring ownership of the nuclear value chain. THE CORE: RAEB At the center is the Rwanda Atomic Energy Board, coordinating research, industrial applications, medicine, and training. RAEB is not just a regulator, it is the architect of Rwanda’s nuclear future. RWANDA’S STEP-BY-STEP STRATEGY TO BUILD A NUCLEAR INDUSTRY STEP 1: RESEARCH BEFORE POWER Rwanda is prioritizing a research reactor before electricity generation. This will: • Train scientists and engineers • Advance cancer treatment • Support agriculture and materials science In short: knowledge first, power later. STEP 2: NUCLEAR SCIENCE HUB Kigali is developing a Centre for Nuclear Science and Technology to: • Anchor innovation • Attract global researchers • Support regional applications Moving from consumer → producer of nuclear expertise. STEP 3: SMRs Future deployment will rely on Small Modular Reactors. Why: • Lower cost • Scalable • Safer • Grid-friendly First deployment: early 2030s. A GLOBAL VISION ALREADY UNDERWAY Rwanda aims to: • Become a regional nuclear hub • Join global research networks • Host next-gen reactor innovation • Build a full industry ecosystem Beyond policy and planning, Rwanda has already moved into active partnerships with global nuclear technology developers, positioning itself not just as a future buyer, but as a testing ground and co-developer of next-generation reactors. RAEB has signed agreements with multiple foreign firms, notably U.S.-based NANO Nuclear Energy to support the deployment of microreactors and SMRs, including advanced designs like ZEUS and ODIN, while also building Rwanda’s domestic nuclear ecosystem through training, education, and regulatory development. In parallel, Rwanda partnered with German-Canadian startup Dual Fluid Energy to develop an experimental demonstration reactor expected to validate cutting-edge nuclear technology by the late 2020s, with ambitions to potentially establish a production line of such reactors in Rwanda if successful. These agreements go beyond procurement, including technology transfer, local capacity building, and joint reactor design and testing. Rwanda has positioned itself as a “proof-of-concept” hub for emerging nuclear technologies, attracting global startups. Combined with Nuclear Science Center deals with major nuclear nations like Russia and training of specialists abroad, Kigali is evolving into a hub for SMR and advanced reactor development, not just a future operator. WHY THIS IS DIFFERENT Most countries: > Build → import → operate Rwanda: > Build knowledge → build systems → deploy CONCLUSION Rwanda is not just entering nuclear energy. It is building an entire industry from zero, aiming for a place in the future global nuclear ecosystem. If successful: • A continental science leader • A training hub for Africa • A global player in the next-gen nuclear innovation #NuclearEnergy #Nuclear #RwandaStories #FactsOnRwanda
