It’s also worth noting, considering the feedback given by the judge in the case relates to CEC members’ expulsions, that it might be a first amendment violation to bar candidates from engaging with their endorsements in any way.

As someone who was endorsed, hilariously, by both of the organizations in question, I can confirm that I received a ‘warning’ email regarding the @NYCKidsPAC endorsement but not the other.

My goal is for our community to be just as flush with resources as our friends to the west, for our students and families and the community at large, and this is a start. If the city is creating a gaping void, filling it intentionally is important. This is that.

I’ll say what needs to be said about this at the December PEP, but in short: it is possible to be heartbroken *and* hopeful. It is also necessary to allow space for grief and space for growth, even if we wished it didn’t require such significant loss. chalkbeat.org/newyork/2024/1…
