The media reports insinuating involvement of my yellow rubber boat in the Nord Stream sabotage are misleading, Here's the original expedition video by Agnes Andersson.

@andreaslmunk @ingemann_news Fascinating interview. It surprised me that the guy uses many of the same talking points as proponents of the idea that USA did it with the sailboat as cover. I will publish my own take on the narrative situation on Substack in a couple of days.

I find it interesting that Rosatom stepped in to contribute their Kazakh assets in return for a stake in Uranium One. Is it fair to infer from this that Russia was more interested in the business than to embarrass the Clintons and America? I am asking because Nord Stream is often spoken about as a Russian tool of geopolitical blackmail rather than a business for the Russians. Gazprom shut down Nord Stream 1 in summer 2022, and it's been interpreted as evidence of Russia's energy black mailing, and it is also a pillar of the narrative that Russia blew up their own pipeline. In reality, the conflict started by western sanctions delaying a turbine delivery from Canada. Russia used this as an opportunity to offer gas delivery through Nord Stream 2 instead (powered by Russian turbines and not vulnerable to the same sanctions) . When I looked into this I concluded that Russia indeed were putting some pressure on Germany by making a very orthodox interpretation of safety regulations which require turbine redundancy. However, I would still classify Russia's actions as legitimate business negotiation (not delivering a product when the customer breaks the contract), whereas the sanctions are conceptually black mail and not business. Sanctions are threats of arbitrary retaliation against an enemy if certain demands are not met. I'm planning to make this point in a speech to German politicians in a few weeks, so I'm very interested in feedback disproving or enforcing my point.

let me explain briefly (and I've written MANY threads on this in the past). Investigations into the uranium deal (FBI, congressional) investigated or purported to investigate a link between Clinton Foundation on the CFIUS approval of the eventual Rosatom/Uranium One deal and couldn't find one. That part of the transaction was clean. Where the Clintons were vulnerable was to a case along the lines of the prosecution of Lazarenko, the son-in-law of the former Ukrainian president Kuchma. (Hillary's pal, Yulia Tymoshenko, was an unindicted co-conspirator.) Lazarenko had made huge profits from valuable assets appropriated or embezzled from the Ukrainian state in the 1990s after the fall of the Soviet Union. Ablyazov, the son-in-law of Kazakh president Naurzbaev, had similarly appropriated or embezzled hugely valuable uranium assets from the Kazakh state sector. (His associate Dzhakishev, who had signed the transfer, was convicted of fraud in 2010.) Frank Giustra acquired the Kazakh uranium assets in Sept 2005 from an offshore company controlled by Ablyazov. Bill Clinton accompanied Giustra to Kazakhstan in 2005 when the deal was being struck. Clinton met with Naurzbaev while Giustra met with Ablyazov. Giustra then financed the acquisition, then did a reverse takeover of a publicly listed shell company in Canada which became Uranium One. By 2009, Giustra had made hundreds of millions, if not billions, on the deal, a portion of which was "donated" to Clinton Foundation. Giustra being the largest single contributor. Plus whatever stock Bill may have had on the side. Bill made an important contribution to the acquisition by being there. Ablyazov was a major league crook. By 2009, he had fallen out of favor with his father in law and had moved to Europe. (He later turns up in Ukraine-related affairs.) Dzhakishev, who had visited the Clintons in 2007, was charged with fraud in 2009 in connection with the transfer of title on the uranium properties and was convicted in 2010. The legal problems in Kazakhstan created an existential problem for Uranium One as a public corporation (which was by then mostly owned by public shareholders.) Its value lay in its Kazakh assets, title to which was now seriously in question. In real time, it would have been an unholy mess. Not just for the directors of Uranium One, but for the Clintons, since any unraveling of the title to the Uranium One Kazakh assets would inevitably lead to the role of Bill Clinton in the acquisition of the Kazakh assets and the resulting contributions to the Clinton Foundation. The Russians (Rosatom) stepped in to solve the problem. They had their own uranium assets in Kazakhstan. They did a deal with Uranium in which they contributed their Kazakh properties to Uranium One in exchange for a minority interest in the company, while also (and this is my speculation) undertaking to resolve the land title mess in Kazakhstan. Which they did. Uranium One's title was confirmed by the Kazakh government. Had Uranium One's title fallen apart, there would have been huge legal recriminations which would necessarily have embroiled both Clintons. All of that was avoided by the Russian intervention. But at the end of the day, there was still a potential legal problem. The money laundering theory of the Lazarenko case was that Lazarenko had acquired assets illegitimately in Ukraine and that proceeds of those assets had touched US banking system, thus triggering US money laundering liability. The same theory seems to apply to Kazakh uranium. The Kazakh uranium assets had been acquired by Ablyazov illegimately and proceeds of those illegimately acquired assets later touched the US banking system (as contributions to the Clinton Foundation and perhaps elsewhere.) Certainly enough of a nexus for a very serious investigation. But, needless to say, an investigation that was never carried out by the FBI.

here's an interesting coincidence (or not) in the new information on Clinton investigation. On (Friday) July 29, 2016, Strzok was instructed to open Crossfire Hurricane investigation. He filed the paperwork on Sunday, July 31, 2016. (And then went to London to interview the Australian diplomats.) On (Monday) August 1, 2016, "FBIHQ" instructed Little Rock FBI office to close the Clinton Foundation investigation.

@UmlandAndreas You and your ilk are despicable frauds who resort to Stalinist-like denunciations, censorship, and whitewash neo-Nazis in Ukraine. x.com/I_Katchanovski…
Ivan Katchanovski@I_Katchanovski

Andreas Umland, who backed a call for total mobilization in Ukraine by a neo-Nazi admirer of Hitler, Anton Shekhovtsov, who headed the Dugin's organization in Crimea, and their ilk resort to a Stalinist-like denunciation of my open access book “The Russia-Ukraine War and its Origins" link.springer.com/book/10.1007/9… They and their ilk want not only to censor my book but also to go after my university job and subject me to criminal persecution/sanctions by the Zelensky regime because they are incapable of challenging my evidence-based analysis. Instead of following standard academic norms and practices, they resort to such collective denunciation of a book and a scholar, which is typical of Soviet practices. And their denunciation is based on primitive fraud, fakes, and slander. Umland’s first draft, which was formulated with Skekhovtsov involvement, was sent to his handpicked recipients on January 1, 2026, but the absolute majority of them did not sign. He spent 4 months on collecting signatures by adding denunciation of Elon Musk, whose Starlink has been critical for communication of the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the Russia-Ukraine war. They also smear David Sacks for his GoFundMe contribution. Ukrainska Pravda, propagates defamation, denunciations, and fake news concerning me. I helped to publicize in the US media kidnapping and killing of its founder, but it now turned into an equivalent of Soviet Pravda. It’s revealing who joined such Stalinist-like denunciation by means of false claims. For them, politics trumps merit, evidence, and scientific research. Open-access publication of my book was funded by open access publication grant from the University of Ottawa and over 350 GoFundMe contributors. Contrary to the denunciation, Elon Musk did not fund my book but helped on Twitter/X to stop an attempt to block my GoFundMe. I publicly thanked Elon Musk and all contributors, whom Umland, Shekhovtsov and their ilk slander. They also propagate primitive fakes about popularity of my book, because it reached 249,000 views and downloads on the publisher website 6 months since its official publication. They falsely claim that Musk and Sacks covertly promote its views and downloads on X. Like their Soviet counterparts denouncing books, which they did not read, they did not even read the book’s preface or read it but propagated deliberate fraud, nevertheless. My preface clearly states: My academic publications, which primarily concern conflicts and politics in Ukraine, have reached over 2,000,000 reads and downloads just on my academic websites and the publisher sites. My research-based Twitter and Facebook posts and YouTube videos reached over 125,000,000 views. I am one of the most cited political scientists who specialize primarily in politics and conflicts in Ukraine. My research-based publications, interviews, and comments appeared in more than 4,000 media reports in more than 80 countries. They include such major Western media as ABC News, BBC Ukrainian, Associated Press, Canadian Press, CBC News, CTV News, France 24, France Télévisions, Daily Beast, Euronews, Global TV, Globe and Mail, Guardian, Hill TV, La Presse, Le Figaro, La Razón, La Stampa, National Post, Reuters, Sky News Australia, Times Higher Education, Vice, and Washington Post. My paper, "The “Snipers’ Massacre” on the Maidan in Ukraine," is the most downloaded paper among almost 20,000 papers on subject of ‘Ukraine’ in Academia.edu, a major registered-based research depository and site for scholars. I published its greatly expanded and updated versions and parts in peer-reviewed journals and books. These open access studies have over 1,000,000 views and downloads. Four my papers are among the top dozen most downloaded papers on subject of ‘Ukraine’ on Academia.edu. Umland, Shekhovtsov, and their ilk are well aware about impact of my previous studies, but they deliberately propagate fakes. My book was published by a major Western academic press following very positive peer-review by two experts. It was endorsed by four leading American, British, and Ukrainian scholars. In her reviewof my open access book, a noted British journalist wrote that “The Russia-Ukraine War and its Origins is not just another study of the conflict. It is a tour de force of advocacy—for truth—a feat of evidence gathering and probably the closest that anyone has come to disentangling the host of conflicting narratives that have so characterised this war.” The book is based on primary evidence and not on narratives propagated by Russian, Ukrainian, and Western governments. But Umland and co in their denunciation deliberately misrepresented findings of my book which clearly states: The analysis shows that the illegal Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, represented the extreme escalation by Russia of the conflicts with Ukraine and the West, the civil war in Donbas, the annexation of Crimea, and the Western-backed violent and illegal overthrow of the pro-Russian government in Ukraine by the oligarchic and far-right alliance by means of the Maidan massacre and assassination attempts during Euromaidan. NATO accession of Ukraine was a major factor, but it, like the role of the far right, was inflated by Russia. Russian imperialism was also significant but secondary factor. Ukraine is not a democracy. Umland, Shekhovtsov, and their ilk try to force scholars to parrot the Zelensky government propaganda and propagate fake narratives that they propagate themselves, such, as false flag Nord Stream bombing by Russia, genocide in Ukraine, Ukraine as democracy, and no neo-Nazis in Ukraine. They falsely claim that the blocking of the nearly finalized Istanbul peace deal by the Western governments is Russian propaganda and denounce my book for this even though this was stated or de facto admitted by the head and members of the Ukrainian delegation, ex-prime minister of Israel, president and foreign minister of Turkey, Victoria Nuland and several other such top officials. They falsely link me and my book to the Russian media because a noted US-educated German professor specializing in Ukrainian history was one of those who congratulated me on X with its publication. They falsely equate the Zelensky regime with Ukraine and Ukrainians and their support for the violent overthrow of the Ukrainian government, mutual killings of Ukrainians in civil war in Donbas, and the proxy war to the last Ukrainian with supporting Ukraine and Ukrainians. They choose to attack and defame one of a few Ukrainian political scientists in the Western academy specializing primarily in conflicts in Ukraine. Umland and Shekhovtsov resorted to such denunciation in retaliation ofreferences in my book to their partisan whitewashing of neo-Nazis in Ukraine: Some researchers, especially from partisan think tanks, regarded the role of the far-right organizations and formations in Ukraine in Euromaidan, and the war in Donbas as insignificant or marginal. They focused on numerical strength of far-right organizations and electoral support for the far-right parties and ignored or denied the far-right involvement in political violence, such as the Odesa massacre and the civil war in Donbas. They claimed that the presence of Russian-speakers in the Azov regiment and other neo-Nazi-led armed formations is evidence of their relative tolerance and asserted that the Azov regiment moderated by abandoning its far-right roots (see, for example, Umland, 2019, 2020)... Anton Shekhovtsov compared the mass killing of people by a fire in the Trade Union building in Odesa to his killing of Colorado potato beetles by collecting them in a box and then burning them” (Anton, 2014). He was earlier a leader of the Crimean branch of the pro-Russian far-right Eurasian Youth Union led by Aleksandr Dugin (AntiNATOvskii, 2006). The denunciation of me and my scholarly book by Umland, Shekhovtsov, and their ilk is not only an open attack on academic freedom but also an attempt to censor my book and subject me to criminal prosecution or sanctions by the undemocratic Zelensky regime for my academic research. They falsely link my book to Russian propaganda, Russian media, and “apologetics” of the Russian invasion, which are all criminal offensives in Ukraine. There were many such cases of political persecution in Ukraine. My house, land, and all other property in my native Western Ukraine were illegally seized in retaliation of my scholarly studies of the Maidan massacre in Ukraine. I was blacklisted on the Ukrainian government-linked Myrotvorets hit list for “crimes” of showing involvement of radical nationalists and neo-Nazis in this massacre of the Maidan protesters and the police and for exposing the SS Galicia division veteran, who was given standing ovations in the Canadian parliament by the Canadian government, parliament, Zelensky, and his delegation. The Ukrainian government agency, headed by the leader of the OUN, which collaborated with Nazi Germany and was involved in organizing the SS Galicia Division, threatened me with criminal prosecution for exposing involvement of neo-Nazis in the Maidan massacre. Their Stalinist-era predecessors published in a Ukrainian newspaper a similar denunciation of Mykhailo Krawtchouk, my distant relative, and his mathematical book, during the Stalin’s Great Terror. Two volumes of this mathematical book were translated and used by the American inventor of the electronic digital computer in inventing his computer to speed up solutions of mathematical equations by methods that this noted Ukrainian mathematician developed. He was then arrested on false charges and perished in Stalin's GULAG. Now, their contemporary successors use this invention for similar political denunciation of me and my academic book. They have no decency left.

I think Denmark are complicit. The assertion by Bojan that the "Colonel" called the "Captain" (you know who they are), in order to divert Andromeda from the SS750 convoy does not hold water. There was no risk of discovery by those Russian ships until the morning of the 22:nd September when they actually left Nexø form their last dive. Danish patrol ship Nymfen passed Andromedas path a few miles away and chased the Russians away, helped by Swedish Naval ships. The Danes and Swedes also behaved in unusual ways -broadcasting their positions while herassing the RUssians, and then using the event as a cornerstone in the narrative blaming Russia. I look forward to a follow up on this by you.

I think @bopanc deserves a lot of credit for writing a book with so many details that it can be scrutinized. It's worth reading the book to the end before commenting. More detail will hopefully be released in the trials. At this point, I don't think it was a cover op, but maybe other nations provided support to the Andromeda mission. The alleged phone call diverting the boat from the Russian convoy is a weak point. The Andromeda crew had no Russians to worry about until Sept 22, when they went out to place the last bombs. They didn't evade the Russians. the Russians were actively chased away by Danish and Swedish military. Previous claims of no communications to the boat are debunked by Bojan. I assume the investigation also knows about other phones and could have traced Folgat Folgatenko and his driver to some place near Greifswald. He and others were traced in Romania too on their failed Turk Stream mission. Considering the personalities involved and the magnitude of the effort, I have a very hard time believeing it was just a show to provide cover for someone else.

1/ In the new book by @bopanc , more details are revealed about the Russian convoy which was accused of placing mines on Nord Stream on Sept 22, 2022. Bojan reveals that Chervinsky was aware of this and called Kuzniezov (the guy awaiting trial in Germany) about the danger.

I think it's a mistake to dismiss the story so casually as you do here, Glenn. The lady with pseudonym "Freya" in @bopanc 's book was an experienced and capable deep sea diver. The German investigation have collected evidence strong enough to hold in court. I've surveyed the explosion sites and found nothing contradicting/falsifying the story although I've actively searched for it. The instigators and planners were close to CIA. That's not hidden in Bojan's book. The open question is weather other nations (USA/Sweden/Denmark/Poland) knew and actively supported the operation.

The Seymour Hersh story says that the bombs were triggered by sonar signals from buoys dropped from a P8, and the P8 iceland flight timing would have been appropriate for triggering the second set of explosions in the Northern area. It was too late to trigger the NS2 explosion, but it was well positioned to observe the results in the early morning hours of September 26. There were other similar P8 flights on the preceding days which could have triggered the first NS2 bomb but failed to trigger the others. Many commenters here on X believe that's what happened, but I was still surprised to see that a majority of "expert witnesses" in the insurance trial between Nord Stream AG and Lloyds also believe a sonar triggering was most likely. Below is from the insurers report:

John Anker Nielsen is his name 😂 , but yes I'm disappointed he wouldn't tell me about the ship positions before he launched his "rescue". The German investigation was able to reconstruct the route of Andromeda from radar sources, and those same sources will of course also have the full route of Kearsarge between leaving Gnydia on Sept 19 and turning on AIS on Sept 21. But I doubt we will ever see that. The German investigators never even considered USA a suspect. They considered Russia and dismissed it.

Bojan, I read you book carefully. I hope more people do, but I'm not optimistic about that. Sad, since your book is by far the best account we have of the Nord Stream sabotage. Now to the point: The convoy chase Sept22-24 is the only incident of the kind where the Swedish navy ships were broadcasting their positions all the way to Kaliningrad. Your coverage of the Siberjakov incident adds another clue. You reveal for the first time that a Swedish intel officer "privately" helped organize the first attempt of the same Ukrainian team to blow up the pipeline in June. It had to be cancelled because Russians might have caught wind of it, and Siberjakovs patrolling was an indication of that. Are you now saying that this Swedish intel officer and buddy of Chervinsky only spoke privately about helping Ukrainians blow up Nord Stream and never brought it up at work, where he just routinely shadows Russians "and protects infrastructure". This is too silly. You know, the investigators know, and all relevant intel people know that the "Russia did it" media stories based on the Sibiryakov and SS-750 incidents are intentionally deceptive in order to build up public support for mobilization against Russia. Both Danish and Swedish defense were happy to inform media and comment on the SS-750 incident, and they knew it would result in media stories implicating Russia. The position broadcasting was unique and happened BEFORE the explosions. Come on. Let's say you are right and nobody in the Swedish and Danish command chain had any idea what the Ukrainians were up to, and they were just routinely "shadowing" Russians protecting their own pipeline. Would they aggressively go back and fourth along the EEZ border preventing the slow Russian vessels to come even close to their pipeline? No, this wasn't shadowing. It was an intervention to stop the Russians from seeing something they were not supposed to see, and that's not something you want to brag about, so the unusual transparency was entirely in order to implicate Russia for the deeds of their own team.

Erik, read my book carefully. The Swedes and the Danes as all NATO navies automatically shadow the Russians whenever they operate in the Baltic. The Russians potentially tried to protect their own pipeline and NATO shadowed them routinely. Whether or not SE/DK also protected the pipeline - given previous intel - I don’t know. But I know for a fact that nobody tried to protect the sabotage.
