Discovered new bacteria and found that our LPS receptors are blind to most deep sea bacteria. Kudos to my fantastic student Anna Gauthier, collaborator Randi Rotjan and the beautiful waters of the Phoenix Islands Protected Area for revealing a small subset of its secrets.
