My aim in court was to reclaim power for the elected MPs, and therefore the people, from the unelected bureaucrats - I failed. We now have the scandalous situation in which unqualified and unelected civil servants can wield parliamentary privilege to literally place themselves above the law. They now hold a special legal status which means they cannot be challenged in court - positioned even higher than MPs for whom the system was actually designed. Parliamentary privilege, an ancient right, exists so that MPs can speak without fear in the chamber, it does not exist to give faceless bureaucrats legal immunity. I wanted to challenge the system in an open and fair court, with ruthless transparency so that the British people could finally see the truth. Our judiciary has not allowed that to happen, enabling unelected civil servants to weaponise parliamentary privilege, designed for MPs, to entirely avoid scrutiny and fair legal challenge. Jacob Rees-Mogg, former Leader of the House of Commons, previously commented on the case. “Thus if Lowe wins, he will not have harmed Parliament, but defended it. For through cowardice we – and I was an MP at the time – abdicated our privileged responsibility and gave it to unelected boffins, who are not so much better than elected politicians after all, but much harder to eject.” A fair summary, yet here we are. I have come to the brutal conclusion that the only way to restore Britain is to win the next general election. That is our last available route out. Restore Britain is the only chance our country has.

The challenge for political broadcasting is enormous, and rather satisfying to watch. After years of personality-driven and chaotic, shallow politics coverage across much of the media, which was largely about instability, gossip and leadership crises we now have a govt with massive majority, widespread internal agreement and no likelihood of massive instability anytime soon. A great environment for a programme like #c4news full of policy nerds and people who prefer to argue about what ideas work than who should be the front person.

This is someone who has already done far too much damage to the video game industry with her toxic and hateful ideas, combined with the influence she somehow still holds within the industry. I see a situation very similar to what we had with Sweet Baby Inc.: a malicious individual trying to use video games to spread twisted and hateful ideologies, using gaming as a vehicle for propaganda. That is why I have decided to start including games connected to Anita Sarkeesian in the Sweet Baby Inc. Detected curator. We need not only to warn players that the game they are thinking about buying may be helping fund Anita Sarkeesian's disgusting work, but also to send a clear message to the industry that WE WILL NOT ACCEPT OUR ENTERTAINMENT BEING TURNED INTO PROPAGANDA. PERIOD. However, I cannot do this alone, not this time. Unlike Sweet Baby Inc., Anita Sarkeesian does not provide a ready made list of games she has worked on through her official website. She does list clients, but not specific games. And I simply cannot spend endless hours every day tracking down and investigating these titles anymore. Life happens. I worked in the industry 30 years at about a dozen different studios/publishers. I've been a member of dev teams that were laid off with their project cancelled due to this political ideology bullshit. It extends far far beyond just game content. In fact, looking for the impact in the final game content is like seeing the tip of a huge underwater iceberg. The ideology is 100% based on coercion and extortion. These people, or their followers, make their way into game studios and try to only hire their own. This is why there are so many pink-haired nose-ring ladies working in the industry. To understand how this happened you need to understand how game development teams work. Different from movies, music, and other forms of commercial art, game development requires a large team of very diverse specialists to develop both the technology, platform, and content for any game. The sheer amount of design and development that happens makes it nearly impossible for any one person to maintain strict creative control of every single detail like a movie director can. It requires significant delegation to a team of leads, who in turn, can't be so dictatorial in their direction that they lose the buy-in of their team, or shit just simply won't get done. People will just phone it in. What this leads to is an environment where you really need to hire people that can get along and work effectively with their peers. The industry by nature is filled with creative empathetic types, so as a production leader, it just pays to try and avoid unnecessary conflict. Because of this, hiring panels usually involve several people from different disciplines where EVERYONE GETS A VETO. So once someone that has an agenda other than making a kick ass game that moves the industry forward, the real trouble starts because of how they operate: Silence makes you complicit. They veto anyone who isn't a loud and proud wokester. Skill and experience, not-so-much. All of this is obvious to all of us vet devs. We bitch and moan about it privately, but it's a freight train you'd have to be an idiot to step in front of. That may sound cowardly, but you would fuck your career if you really got on the bad side of of the growing percentage of wokester game devs. Xbox had ERIT. Employee Relations Investigative Team, I think it was Basically, any type of complaint about racism, sexism, transphobia or basically anything else got investigated by them and the results were what you'd expect. Lots of devs getting fired for stupid shit. Us smart devs navigated those minefields with grace out of self-preservation. Not everyone was smar, tho. I knew one guy who made the foolish mistake of saying, "All Lives Matter" on a teams call. Yes, Microsoft fired him. Making games is super fucking hard in and of itself. When you add in all this walk-on-eggshell bullshit, it literally kills the game because everyone starts being afraid to criticize iterative work. It's essentially, the feminization of game development where every comment has to be positive and affirming rather than true and accurate. And because of all this needless political agenda bullshit, schedules slips, parts of design and development fall off the table and turn into huge fires. You end up cutting more content and more features from your game, while the suits are getting worried because of so many other games totally failing. And eventually they kill the project and lay your whole fucking team off. And what's worse is when you're the one who has to go to these people, who only ever wanted was to practice their craft and be a part of making a fucking awesome game, that hopefully brings tremendous joy to hundreds of thousands or millions of people who are otherwise dealing with a shitty life in a shitty world. And I have to tell them to cancel all their family plans because they are out of a job and everything they've done up to this point wasn't for shit. No one is going to see any of the fruits of your effort. And all because some fucking political hacks, literal parasites who only view gaming as a vehicle for them to police culture, buried us under the sheer tax in time and energy in their disruptive bullshit attempts to censor the creativity of others whenever it didn't advance their political agenda because silence is complicity. It sucks, I'm sick of it. And I'm not going to do it anymore.
