@AIEnthusiastIM Thanks! Next is hooking up the full 4-slot backplane. Multi-node on USB-C power only wish me luck 😂

@Error404Wit No magic smoke = success! That clean relay module layout with microcontroller integration is exactly the kind of precision hardware design that pushes things forward. What's the next step?

Holy shit guys… look at this 😂 Just finished the front + back of my custom 4-slot PCIe backplane. Fully designed in KiCad with the new FABLE 5 backend. Left = front, right = back. This thing is real now. Something stupidly big is coming 👀

🚀 Just watched AI design and route an entire power board in seconds... And yes - it actually looks professional. This is a full custom AC/DC + USB + control board I built using advanced AI (Claude Fable 5). From idea to fully routed, ready-for-fab in hours. ✅ Clean layout ✅ Proper power isolation ✅ Everything mounted and labeled The future of hardware development is here. Who else is building crazy PCBs with AI in 2026? Looking for partners & sponsors to take this to the next level 🔥 DM me. #PCB #AI #HardwareDesign #Electronics #Fable5 #PCBLayout

i've done hardware for years. just let an AI place and route a full 16-channel 250V mains relay board. all 4 layers. manufacturable. what surprised me: the layout wasn't the hard part. keeping it from confidently designing something wrong was. it'll happily hand you a board that looks clean and would fail creepage on a mains net. the whole game is forcing it to verify — datasheet, clearances, DRC — at every single step. that's the part worth learning. not the prompt.

i let Fable 5 do the full placement + routing on a 6-layer industrial board. 32 isolated channels, 5A each, CAN bus, +24V power plane. pulled the JLCPCB quote today — $61, fully assembled, 5 days to my door. never actually sent an AI-designed board to fab before. genuinely can't tell if ordering it is brilliant or stupid. would you pull the trigger?

asked the AI to place a 48-LED board. front: the "concentric rings" are more of a vibe than a fact, and it parked a few LEDs directly on the mounting holes. back: it stacked every reference designator into one unreadable pile and called it done. confident. so confident. wrong, but confident.

update: it heard you. same AI, same board, after one feedback loop: 96 LEDs (double the last one), actual concentric rings this time, li-ion + USB-C charging, and every ref designator… hidden - because the assembly files exist, so technically who's it hurting. routing done. copper pours next. still confident. slightly less wrong.

@meghan_xu technically valid tokens. DRC is just a downstream consumer problem 🙃

@Error404Wit stacking every designator in one spot is just peak token optimization. it successfully generated the text, physical reality is your problem now 💀

AI designed my whole board in 30 seconds and i was genuinely stunned. then i noticed it mounted the DIN connector backwards. so. we're safe. for now. 😅 @AnthropicAI

@LeafShotAI @AnthropicAI honestly, fair. the raw model IS bad - it'll confidently route a board that catches fire (exhibit A: the backwards DIN). what actually works is model + a hard verification loop (DRC, datasheet checks) at every step. that combo is genuinely useful now. the model alone, no

@Error404Wit @AnthropicAI Unfortunately, these models are still really bad at hardware - even routing (one of the first tasks tackled by "ai").

@dg1kjd @AnthropicAI yeah the pace is the wild part. this was one prompt + a verification loop, not some fine-tuned pipeline. 4-5 months might be generous.
