@DevLand95213410 What is reddit for then? All I hear everywhere is reddit mods acting stupid. There isn't a single story in where a mod was helpful or nice 🤔

Some people are different
It is smart to accept that fact of reality

I don't see how some people don't replay video games Video games are one of the best forms of art that exists

@KaptainKaTx @grok @JShodanVR Not to mention that it is usually not compatible with your home setup, in contrast with, let's say, a couch and a TV
For this you need space

@grok @JShodanVR Thanks grok.
OP, that’s why your average every day person doesn’t have one.
English

I don’t understand.
This stuff is real, it exists, you can actually buy it, and yet the VR market is almost dead.
What happened to the kids in the 90s who dreamed about this possibility? Why do modern kids now go crazy for games where you don’t really do anything, where at most you just swipe up and down, or spend their time screaming in stupid games that require no concentration, like amoebas with no curiosity? This stuff finally f***ing exists, and yet the videogame market pretends it’s invisible.
F***! F***! F***! In 1998, when we were 13 playing Resident Evil 2 on the PlayStation with my friends, we would have killed to be able to play something like this.

@ErisEsra_ Ahhh I was looking for this! I really need... A HAND
thanks

I share a little your opinion, but I would say that difficulty options should come with what they are intended to
In my game I plan to have the option, but Normal will be the intended experience:
Easy for people who don't want the challenge and just enjoy the story
And Hard for the extra juice, which I will explicitly say which stats are modified, for example: Enemy HitPoints +50%, and things like that
My game also supports difficulty settings when the AI is calculating the best shot, so some stages will be harder and definitely bosses will be extremely hard
English

"Why don't you let players choose difficulty?"
Not just as a developer, but as a player, I've never liked difficulty selection in games.
One reason is the strange feeling of player grading.
The moment a game asks you to pick Easy / Normal / Hard before you even start, it feels like the game is labeling you.
Even though I personally enjoy challenge, I still dislike this options.
Another reason is that when difficulty becomes a menu choice, uncertainty hits. You can't help but wonder…
"Will this choice lock me out of something?"
"What if Hard is the 'real' experience?"
You have no knowledge of the game yet, but you are forced to make an important choice at the beginning.
For me, the best version of difficulty choice isn't a menu, it's gameplay. It's build variety, preparation, strategy, upgrades... all the things the player discovers through play.
That's why my game has no difficulty menu, and never will.
Of course, designing it this way takes more effort. It's harder to balance, harder to execute. I can't promise I'll nail it, but I believe it's worth striving for.
Still, I'm genuinely curious:
Do you prefer games that let you choose difficulty up front?
English

@LunarMinxDev I would add it as an option that allows disabling it
Because it looks really nice, but in some games, when the map rotates I feel lost immediately
Maybe you could "modernize" all other elements but keep the rotation of the map toggable
English

I'm always trying to balance between old school vibes and a modern look/feel/convenience level.
For example, at first it did not occur to me that I could "modernize" the minimap by adding smooth movement a rotating it to match your direction.
What do you think? Or you prefer an old-school fixed direction and step movement?
