DYK that some landlords are imposing a $60 fee on renters for utilizing online portals to pay their rent? These unnecessary charges further exacerbate the challenges households already burdened by rent expenses face. Let's put an end to these unjustifiable fees. #EndJunkFees

This tenant organizing $ is important. There’s a tremendous power imbalance in our housing system tilting heavily in favor of landlords at expense of renters. Tenant organizing & empowerment are essential to rebalancing power & ensuring safe/affordable homes.
Secretary Marcia L. Fudge@SecFudge

.@POTUS believes, as do I, that every American deserves access to safe, accessible, and affordable housing. That’s why we are taking significant strides to protect tenants and increase fairness in the rental market. whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/…

Today, I signed bills that will move us forward on preventing homelessness, helping individuals experiencing homelessness, and easing the path to building more housing in every part of the state. Thank you, legislators and advocates, for making progress. Let’s keep going!

The city of eugene passed renter protections phase 2 on a 5-2. We now have increased protections for security deposits, application processes, and no cause eviction relocation assistance. The city is now tracking evictions in a comprehensive way. BIG WIN for renters!
