@EugenPinak Zawsze robię notatki kiedy coś czytam. Dane pochodzą z tekstu rozdziału opisującego potencjał Nihon Kaigun w momencie rozpoczęcia wojny. Opisano siły powietrzne, siły morskie i liczebność personelu.

@war_kot54008 As far as I know, this is authorized strength, not actual strength of the IJN Air Force. Can you tell me the page of volume 88 this data is from?

Porównajmy to do lotnictwa Nihon Kaigun. Według Senshi Sōsho numer 88: 519 s. myśl. 257 s. bomb. 955 s. szturm. 439 s. rozp. 38 s. transp. 66 ł. lat. 928 s. szk. i tren. = 3202

@battle_order No way one LT could have handled this herd. One of the strengths of the 1944 Airborne was that their platoons had two LTs (improving the odds of at least one getting off the DZ).

You've heard of the Pentomic Division, but how about the Hexagonal Platoon? (This sort of historical structure is why the U.S. has sections as a [••] echelon larger the [•] squad, aside from its utility with weapons sections)

@garyandglendah1 Yes, armor allocation is obviously incorrect. There were IJA plans to add tankette companies to infantry divisions, but not companies of medium tanks. Engineer regiment organization is also incorrect.

The armoured element seems overly generous. I don’t think there were more than a few hundred tanks in the entire Japanese army In Manchuria. 1939 The battle at Nomonhan cost the Japanese nearly two hundred tanks and tankettes. At that point the Japanese high command withdrew the Armour brigades, for fear they would lose their entire reserve. Once they withdrew the Soviet armor found their courage, and tore the Japanese infantry to shreds. Due to the Japanese infantries lack of tanks. Obviously their anti tank weaponry was not up to the task. BT-7 Soviet, 40mm gun.

@kindaveryfurry Well, actually cavalry was the weakest link of the IJA. Too few horses to built good cavalry.

At it's now _2_ April, we can think about better use of IJN Oyodo and its sistership Niyodo for real 😉 A thread > Oyodo-class to carry 6 hight-speed recon E15K Shiun = 紫雲. Seaplane carriers Chitose, Chiyoda, Nisshin could carry some ... >

@RX2662 @kantaidoge1999 Understood. Thanks to you two, I've learned something new today. Because I was sure that all new Japanese seaplane fighter aircraft were designed first and foremost for use aboard ships. But opposite was true.

@kantaidoge1999 @EugenPinak This is a bit of a digression, but perhaps it's not included in the specifications, so it's not being done, but it might be possible if they wanted to do it. However, there haven't been any requests for it.

@EugenPinak @RX2662 Due to structural limitations, the A6M2-N couldn't take off using a catapult. In fact, this photo shows the Kamikawa Maru transporting A6M2-Ns.Likewise, the N1K couldn't use a catapult either for the same reason.

@EugenPinak @RX2662 The E16A Zuiun can take off using a catapult, but I'm not sure if the A6M2-N Type 2 seaplane fighter and N1K Kyofu can use a catapult because they've never been on a ship
