Last week, @EnabelinUganda signed a €280K grant with @KCCAUG to tackle youth unemployment in Kampala metropolitan. Under #WeWorkUG, funded by the @EUinUG & Belgium, this partnership bridges the skills gap by aligning training with labour market needs. 1,000 youth will gain work-readiness skills, with at least 200 placed in private sector jobs. This will greatly boost government efforts under the leadership of @KagutaMuseveni who embarked on Skilling of the youth free of charge through the presidential industrial Skilling hubs and institutions like @TVETCouncilUg. Happening now: Our Partners of the Advancing Respect for Human Rights by Businesses in Uganda (ARBHR) project are sharing progress and success stories from their various digital rights initiatives, from the various regions they operate in Uganda.🇺🇬 This learning and reflection bootcamp, brings together business owners, civil society organisations and Small & Medium Enterprises(SMEs) to consolidate best practices and strategies for sustaining the Business and Human Rights (BHR) agenda in Uganda. Some of the key highlights so far: 1⃣ We have reached about 17m people. 2⃣Awareness & Engagement Activities(radio talk shows, social media campaigns. 3⃣Capacity Building ,Research & Information Dissemination. 4⃣Digital Fraud awareness initiative. Thanks @observerug, for highlighting the Green Diary Project, which will benefit 20,000 farmers across 15 districts in Uganda.
