@staysaasy Signing a non-compete contract w/ OAI wouldn't prevent Anthropic from steamrolling you If Harvey/Legora had done that and only used OAI models, it wouldn't change the fact Claude for legal is a major threat

If Anthropic successfully nukes Harvey/Legora with Claude for legal, the only logical conclusion for vertical AI companies will be to never build on Anthropic, and for OAI to be their model company of choice with non-compete agreements. All OAI would have to do is sign contracts agreeing to not compete and they’d secure billions in revenue from B2B AI companies that don’t want to get bombed by their model provider.

Anthropic has quietly shipped third-party inference for Cowork and Code in Claude Desktop. This should work with local models or OpenRouter via LiteLLM proxy. Is it just me?

@AshConnell @threejs and im assuming some finite state machine for the characters and path finding? or how do they pick when and which functions to call?

@EvanFenster @threejs there’s no dependency bloat, just threejs and small custom systems for everything. ai is just a system that calls the same functions players use, they’re all “characters” so they work the same way

i've had claude quietly building me a web based mobile-first 2D top down pixel fantasy game powered by @threejs in the background for a few weeks now, it's jam packed full of stuff: - brawl stars style combat across 10 different weapons and play styles - gear layering and animation system with light, medium and heavy armor with different stats - mining, woodcutting, fishing, foraging, smelting, cooking, tanning, etc - basic mobs that roam - ai-powered enemies that know how to use all the same weapons/armor humans do - pvp! overall pretty stoked how this went from literally nothing to all of this in such a short amount of time. let me know if this is something you might wanna play, maybe i'll share a link?

WOW. I’m just now finding out Stripe presented my project, Barista Agent, at their keynote conference Stripe Sessions last April. Would’ve been nice if they’d accredited me during it tho 🤨

Cursor subagents often sneaks in prompts to output entire contents of files. 1. Why is this ever necessary, and 2. why spend tokens asking a model to do this, when it can be done in half a second and no token spend with simple I/O? Feels like a way to burn large amounts of tokens and get users to upgrade their plans quicker ...

I’m joining @SpaceX and @xai with @JasonBud. X is the company realizing science fiction - reusable rockets, humanoid robots, data centers in space, and more. Almost 10 years ago, I joined SpaceX as an intern on Dragon 2 crew displays. This was in the era of the first rocket landings on barges, long before the Dragon 2 restored human spaceflight to America or Starlink delivered internet from space. Every day since then, I’ve thought about the next steps to land on the Moon - and to build a city on Mars, data centers in space, the brains behind robots, and beyond. There is no better place to build teams and products from the ground up with planetary scale resources. If you’re looking to work on the hardest problems that lay a foundation for humanity’s future to the Moon, Mars, and beyond - DM me.

@nlevine19 I agree with a lot of this. I think of x402 as a shared, global pay-as-you-go API key that an agent can use (rather than make a new API key with each service). And this can make sense for new services, but cards work a lot better with existing businesses.

I've built agents that autonomously make purchases. The bottleneck is NOT in programmatic spending - existing card infra actually handles this very well. There's nearly no difference between giving your employees a corporate card with complex spend limits, and doing the same thing with an agent. Tokenizing and issuing one-time use cards is a solved problem. Amazon has been using payment tokens for years (notice how your card is saved on file, without needing to retype cvc for orders?). The current bottleneck is being able to actually USE these cards with merchants. The current options are (1) browser use PAN form filling and (2) direct integrations (ACP, UCP, x402, etc). You may be able to get a few large merchants with direct integrations (ACP w/ Walmart, Etsy, Instacart) but the long tail will lag, probably forever. x402 makes sense as a global, pay-as-you-go API key, but I agree it won't fill this hole with existing merchants. Browser use models will progress enough for the one-time use card filling approach, but there's a whole host of existing bot prevention infra that would need to be reworked for accept agents making payments as well. Lots of interesting work to be done within this gap!

hiring 1-2 engineers @ Channel3 we believe agentic commerce is the next distribution channel after in-store + e-commerce. but it’s bottlenecked by terrible product data. we have intricate pipelines that are indexing the web and turning messy product pages into a unified, cleaned product graph (100M+ products and counting). backed by Matrix, YC, Ludlow, Paul Graham, and others. currently 5 person team, in-office in NYC. shoot me a DM if you or anyone you know may be a good fit.
