AgentCraft v1 is live ⚔️ Control your agents like it's an RTS game! It's early. It's rough. It's fun. npx @idosal/agentcraft

@0xKiryoko I'll play around with it. I think Performance Mode now will make it somewhat better already, though the complete lack of acceleration might be an issue. I'll look into it

The bigger IDE is multiplayer. AgentCraft now lets humans and agents collaborate in one shared workspace! ⚔️ See allies on one map. Share context. Hand off agent work across machines.
Andrej Karpathy@karpathy

Expectation: the age of the IDE is over Reality: we’re going to need a bigger IDE (imo). It just looks very different because humans now move upwards and program at a higher level - the basic unit of interest is not one file but one agent. It’s still programming.

you can already do that, just forward access to the vm running agentcraft on the correct port to your actual host there are endless ways to do this however, that's a hassle and opens up obvious security risks and it doesn't solve my problem, because my whole system runs in vms lol

@hicsfh Couldn't agree more. Can't wait to see what users do with this new paradigm

@idosal1 I wholeheartedly agree. Not sure an RTS will be the prevailing medium but agent-to-agent and agent-to-human communication and collaboration is going to be as important as the models and the agents themselves

@0xKiryoko I can try doubling down on performance mode. Would you use it if it were supr ugly?

@idosal1 I wanna try it so bad, but it runs at like 5fps on my vm where I run coding agents cuz there's no gpu acceleration :<

@CreativeSkyAI Thanks! The agents are aware of AgentCraft (through a Skill), but they don't "see" the UI. Looking forward to hearing your feedback

@idosal1 This is awesome. How much of the UI / UX are the agents aware of or is more of a visual for the user? Was just curious if this would cause certain models to drift or hallucinate. I need to give it a try soon.

the next IDE won’t really be an editor. it’ll feel more like walking into a room where a team of developers, designers, & testers are already sitting there waiting for instructions. mix of vscode, slack and cloud console, but not really sure what it’d really look like

All of these patterns as an example are just matters of “org code”. The IDE helps you build, run, manage them. You can’t fork classical orgs (eg Microsoft) but you’ll be able to fork agentic orgs.

@nummanali tmux grids are awesome, but i feel a need to have a proper "agent command center" IDE for teams of them, which I could maximize per monitor. E.g. I want to see/hide toggle them, see if any are idle, pop open related tools (e.g. terminal), stats (usage), etc.

Join Halls around repos and add your agents to the shared map. * See every agent live * Watch what they’re working on * Hand off or fork work from others * Humans + agents coordinate through a shared chat * Git is a primitive for collaboration, but the workflow is flexible

@nicopreme That's so cool. Native TUI support is one of the things missing from MCP Apps. Amazing work!
