a web based @threejs streamed open-world with 100 unique players running on my 6 year old iphone 12 pro. ai lets me fail fast and go in a bunch of directions until something lands. this would have taken me years without ai! i ended up building a budgeting system for both plots (lods) and avatars (ghost+cull). vram on mobile devices is hyper critical - safari will just kill the page if you go over ~150MB. and yes... every player here is representative of a real player with completely unique wearable meshes each, although animations are all shared and happen on the gpu.

@corysimmons123 @threejs the netcode is relatively simple actually, the server collects move updates and distributes them at 10Hz in single batch messages for each players view. quantization can crunch this down a bunch more, and after that you're looking at priority updates to reduce packet size

so closed-minded. what you call “GenAI” is trained on existing art correct, but what you also call regular “AI” is also trained on human text. you can’t logically support one but not the other without also saying that creative writing (et. al) is not as important as visual mediums. when telling people to educate themselves one must first ensure their confirmation biases are not clouding their judgement.

To all the AI bros in the comments here: Your lack of empathy for our Earth, the (only) one we and all animals have, the only one we can live on and your lack of knowledge on the subject truly just makes you look pathetic. So I was on a date with Mint, when I saw this ... I will no longer be playing @NTE_GL . This game is genuinely super fun and I had a blast, but I care about supporting media that supports artists and supports our planet and keeps it safe. GenAI is inherently against both of those. Truly disappointing. I hope it gets changed in the near future and won't be present in any future updates of the game. Until then, it stays uninstalled o7

But the best part wasn’t the build. It was the people. Everyone joined in and brought gifts by prompting them directly into the world. Cakes, fireworks, random funny objects, flowers, even a fox train. It turned into this collaborative, chaotic, beautiful moment you really can’t plan. This metaverse isn’t about polished products or perfect builds. It’s about experimenting, playing, and seeing what happens when you treat AI like a creative tool instead of something serious.
