Extra special Father’s Day this year. I was incredibly proud to cast my vote this morning alongside my incredible wife and our amazing kids. Above all else, this campaign is about building a better city and country for their future. Having them by my side throughout this journey has been the greatest gift of all.

Thank you for recognizing the importance of federal law. Speaking of which, Congress clarified that “no authorities exist” for these IAAs. ICYMI, see page 83 of the Joint Explanatory Statement for the FY 2026 Labor-HHS-ED appropriations law. 🔗docs.house.gov/billsthisweek/…

False. IDEA, as an education law, ensures that a child’s disability isn't viewed as a medical condition that needs to be treated. No partnership can alter the rights individuals are afforded under federal law.

NEW: Sen. John Liu says to me in a statement that class size law extension will NOT be in the budget (but is being finalized) “An extended timeframe for compliance with class-size limitations enacted in 2022 is being finalized and will be legislated apart from the state budget.”

The risks of tech for public education are real but blanket bans would be disastrous because we need AI, used in a smart and safe way, to help us overcome intractable obstacles to student success, most importantly what I call the "Catch-up Crisis." the74million.org/article/americ…

NEW: My office analyzed NYC’s urban forest—more than 7 million trees across our streets, parks, and private land. We found that neighborhoods with the least tree canopy tend to have the highest heat vulnerability, and also have the highest rates of childhood asthma. Trees are essential infrastructure. They are about public health, flood prevention, economic development, and equity. NYC’s goal is 30% canopy cover. Achieving it will require sustained planting, and also stronger maintenance, better protection of existing trees, and long-term funding. Read our full report, "NYC’s Living Infrastructure: Funding and Managing NYC’s Urban Forest and Tree Canopy". Link below.

I introduced a bill to repeal the federal school voucher program. America's public schools helped build the middle class, but universal school vouchers drain school funding and hurt students. Arizona is living it right now. Our kids and our country deserve better.
