I'm sticking to my self imposed 'no political posts after midnight'rule (except for major developments) so on another more contentious topic - what covers beat originals? I have long thought 'in a Manner of Speaking' by Noveulle Vague and 'Bang Bang' by Nancy Sinatra

“The Narrows” - @SuperRare. This particular shot has never been taken before. Taken at almost 3 miles above NYC in a 🚁 with the doors open. The pilot had to be on Oxygen to legally and safely pilot the aircraft. This is the result of a highly planned and coordinated photo shoot.

@sambrook The Radio Wales report about a new independence movement for Pembrokeshire, featuring a flag with a seagull with a potato was pretty good. But that must have been in about 1970. Reporter was Dave Allen. Since then, agreed: lame. And the point was that the listeners got the joke.

@PatsKarvelas @GrayConnolly Cmon, Patricia, you take sides in what ought to be a genuine, calm debate. ABC presenters are supposed to leave their politics in reception. No place for the Rowling/Moore/Navratilova position in your "analysis". Debate has moved on in UK and US but you don't seem aware of it.

There are multiple videos of Kellie-Jay being assaulted. Women have become used to lies, threats of violence and outright denial of reality, but if you imagine anyone feels 'defeated', think again. Your men's rights activists showed the world exactly who they are. #LetWomenSpeak

We also reject that there was any further physical threat from our community towards Parker. This is a baseless rumour that is being perpetrated by those who feel defeated by the events of today. We urge the media not to repeat these allegations without evidence.

@RobBurl As you no doubt know, Rob, politicians and their gophers complain all the time. Sometimes they're right and sometimes they're wrong. When they're right we tweak and change tone. I'm sick of ex-BBC ppl pulling down the BBC. It's sad and undermines democracy.

1) This is a really worrying example of the BBC Westminster emails and messages published by Guardian. “D St complaining that we’re not reflecting Labour’s mess of plan b online. ie Ashworth said it earlier this week, then reversed. Can we turn up the scepticism a bit on this?”

When we think of @GaryLineker’s tweet, let’s not forget that Andrew Neil was the #BBC’s lead TV political interviewer when he issued this one. The #BBC management will erode respect for their organisation if they don’t formulate a policy of #impartiality which is fair+consistent.

Good point from James Harding: things are not about to get less political. The BBC needs a "clean hands", acceptable to all sides chair, pronto.

@LauraPh222 @GaryLineker Ordinary people do not distinguish between staff and freelancers, Laura. Gary L has harmed the BBC and created a diversion for the Mail/Telegraph from the government's problems. But how can they sack him for partiality when Boris' financial advisor remains as chair?

Thought experiment re @GaryLineker: #BBC #football pundit expresses views with which I disagree on social media, *not* on their BBC prog. I wouldn’t like the views, but wld agree that person had right to express them. This freedom wld not apply to anyone working in BBC News, IMO.
