In Sakhinetipalli, Christians have constructed a Baptism Ghat on the Godavari River and its branch canal for converting Hindus to Christianity and performing baptisms. On 31st March 2026, Rajolu @JanaSenaParty MLA Sri @DevaVaraPrasaad Garu inaugurated and started the work for this Baptism Ghat 👏. Questions: 1. Has the Irrigation Department granted permission to use the canal water commercially for baptism purposes? 2. The banks of this canal fall under the jurisdiction of the Irrigation Department. In such cases, protective berms (embankments) are usually present on the canal banks. Are there any berms here? If not, why? 3. Who has given permission to construct steps directly into the irrigation canal? 4. When Hindus perform Godavari Pushkaralu, pujas, and harathis in the river, how can baptisms be conducted in the same water body? Christians generally do not accept Hindu prasadam. How is this being managed? 5. Does this Baptism Ghat and the associated Church have all the necessary legal permissions and approvals from the concerned government departments? 6. The MLA has stated that all conversions happening here are completely voluntary. Is he personally monitoring the process every day to ensure there is no force, inducement, or fraud involved in these conversions? Should we continue to remain silent in the name of secularism while our natural resources, sacred hills, ancient Hindu temple sites, major pilgrimage centers, and even our holy rivers are systematically encroached upon and misused? @AndhraPradeshCM @APDeputyCMO @MadhavBJP @PMOIndia @India_NHRC @lawinforce

This Shroud of Turin story now going viral in India was published by New Scientist a few days back and I had read it. I didn't think much of it then. The original story was about how researchers used advanced methods to gather dust found on the cloth to extract DNA and analyze it. The researchers found the DNAs to be varied, with about 38% of it being Indian in origin. Others being of European, Middle Eastern, and animal origin. What I interpreted is, the cloth most likely had Indian origins. This was of no surprise to me as India exported such high quality linen to Middle East and Europe for centuries. This is why I didn't think much of it. But now some Indian media have published it as "The Shroud of Turin is Indian." This gives a different meaning as if the person wearing the cloth was Indian. Could it be so? Yes, likely as well. If we believe in the Shroud of Turin story. But definitely the westerners who represent Jesus as a white man aren't going to allow this to become some mainstream view. The Shroud of Turin, believed to be the cloth Jesus’s body was wrapped in after his death. It was removed and mysteriously disappeared. It resurfaced in Europe in the 13th century. Now, over 38% of the DNA found on it is of Indian origin, suggesting the possibility that Jesus could be of Indian descent if the story is true. But I am sure they will tell you the story isn't true, and even if true, the DNA came only because the cloth was touched by Indians or manufactured in India, that's all.
