🎯 Apologists trying to credit Orbán for conceding are intentionally missing the point. He would’ve done anything to stay in power had he thought it possible. Hungarians made it impossible. Trying & failing to destroy democracy receives no credit. He didn't stop; he was stopped.
With 60% counted (but only 40% in Tisza stronghold Budapest), Orban is out and the Hungarian opposition is projected to win the 2/3 majority of seats needed to undo much of his legacy. 🇭🇺 A landslide by any measure.
Best not to get too engrossed in media reports of ongoing negotiations. Better to wait for official sources to say something or a statement to be released. There is a media shaping campaign that is unlikely to correspond to reality. You already know what is being discussed and you already know the mean points both sides will bring up and you already know their red lines. Maybe an agreement will be met, maybe it will not. We will know soon enough.
