Multiplayer comp games should never be solos vs stacks especially at high levels. Games like Apex or Marathon highlight just how egregious the gap between solo queuers and stackers can be. At a certain point, winning against a 3 stack of preds is IMPOSSIBLE. Playing with a stack of preds makes the game feel 10x easier through shared damage, space, synergy and communication. It's literally impossible to perform the same with two randoms regardless of their skill level, even though the game expects you to. It's also a downward spiral where the solo queue pool keeps shrinking as the solo players quit or go stack themselves, making the situation a lot worse. Other comp games have realized this in the past and put a limit to how large the stacks can be. Rivals was abused by 4 or 6 stacks dominating high ranked especially late in the night until it was cracked down on. However, unlike most comp games, Apex only has stacks of 3. You can't allow duos here as they'd make up 60% of the team, whereas a duo in a 6v6 only makes up for 30% of the team. Additionally, it would put the one solo queue player at a disadvantage - and as we've seen time and time again - have them become the scapegoat. I hope that Respawn goes through with these changes. Solo players have gotten punished for people abusing stacking for years and something needs to happen
