Even if you did not support Trumps decision to launch of war of choice against Iran (like me), restricting the use of US airbases in NATO countries imprudently damages NATO unity. Yes, Trumps threats to invade/annex NATO countries does too. But 2 wrongs don’t make a right.

JUST IN - Trump tells the "countries that cant get jet fuel because of the Strait of Hormuz" and who refused to help in the Iran war that "U.S.A. won't be there to help you anymore, just like you weren't there for us."

JUST IN - Netanyahu say strikes on Iran will "grow stronger in the coming days" and that the "campaign" supported by U.S. has enabled him to "do what I have longed to do for 40 years—to strike the terrorist regime hip and thigh."

Maybe it is my over developed sense of skepticism, but I can't help but think the Anthropic dust up is about something very very different than what is playing out in the press

How fucking pathetic Low T fucking losers at frats begging to be told what to do I was hoping the whole time the cops were just going to start beating the fuck out of these guys
Tim Jones@TimothyJones92

The footage from the Iowa Alpha Delta Phi hazing discovery is WILD. A fire alarm went off, police arrived and discovered pledges in the dirty basement blindfolded and shirtless. The two guys initially talking to police did not help the fraternity's case

Anthropic needs a CFO ASAP This is possibly the dumbest most incoherent rambling I have heard in a while. 1) he’s already spending more than his revenue. That can continue if his business is growing 2) he’s not going to have $1tn in revenue 3) if he did have that much revenue the company would be profitable and he could sell equity (like he’s doing now) or borrow 4) he doesn’t need to build data centers if he’s worried about fixed costs and capex. Just pass it along to consumers.
Chris@chatgpt21

Dwarkesh asks Dario a fantastic question relating to how he is so bullish on AGI yet so conservative on data center build out - Dario has an amazing take on this: Dario Amodei details the staggering financial risk of the AI race, explaining that if growth continues at 10x a year, a company could be looking at a $1 trillion revenue run rate by the end of 2027. He notes that to support this, a firm might buy $5 trillion worth of compute. However, he highlights a "ruinous" dilemma: if that revenue is even slightly lower than projected. specifically if it comes in at $800 billion instead of $1 trillion the company would collapse. He explains that if you are off by just a year or if the growth rate drops to 5x, "there's no force on earth, there's no hedge on earth, that could stop me from going bankrupt" after committing to that level of spend. Because of this, Amodei argues that "behaving responsibly" means not just "yoloing" hundreds of billions of dollars. He suggests that some competitors may not have "written down the spreadsheet" and don't fully grasp the existential risks they are taking with these massive, unhedged bets on infrastructure.

As an American citizen it is intensely offensive to me that we would spend this kind of money on Greenland when we don’t have universal healthcare, mandatory maternity leave, good public schools or any sort of social services.
WORLD NEWS@_MAGA_NEWS_

🚨ALERT: In a bombshell revelation, top White House officials disclosed that the United States is finalizing a staggering $700 billion cash offer to buy Greenland outright from Denmark, plus $100,000 lump-sum payments to each of its ~57,000 residents—totaling nearly $706 billion.

Skill issue. I’m in my 20s and will be attending 8 weddings in 2026 and the vast majority of my friends are in long term relationships, engaged, or married. Go outside. Go to the bar. Get off your phone.

Speak to anyone in their 20s or early 30s. Regardless of gender, they all complain about the same thing. The dating market is fundamentally broken Abundance has killed curiosity. Instead of working towards building a relationship, people expect others to be finished products

I met Sarah Stock and her now-fiancee at an event, nice young couple. Good to see them being responsible by not YOLO'ing it on a stupid rock. Wedding culture is out of control. For Bachelorette parties, women will do slide shows for planning. Huge vacations. Vulgar materialism.

@Cernovich Subjective & not entirely true. Jimmy Page via LZ and his influence on modern rock is immense but he is not the only influential guitar player from that era. Just bc a song is played in E standard and Drop D doesn’t mean is demonic.

My parents didn’t let us listen to Metal. Was devil worshipping music. Hard to see how they were wrong. Pantera used pentagrams. Even if “ironic,” or “art,” it’s demonic symbolism. Later in life I tried. Couldn’t stomach it. Made me physically ill. It’s the sound of demons.
