Update..I have been informed by @SEGROplc liaison officer that this section of the bund is not being removed yet and he has informed the contractors of the nesting Skylarks again for which I’m grateful.
Fingers crossed they’ll be kept safe.
Thanks to @paulpowlesland @RosieP4 @saoirse65 and so many others for responding, offering help and advice, I really appreciate it..we all care about our wonderful creatures ❤️

Advice needed ! I’ve been informed that the bund behind my home where the nesting Skylarks are is to be demolished on the 18th May!! I’ve emailed my local RSPB group. I’ve informed @SEGROplc they are there. This is illegal.

EDF, who are behind the South Brooks Energy Park which is 2700 acres of prime farmland. For some reason they were happy for our MP Tony Vaughan to share with us a small section of their correspondence which talks about using concrete shoes to hold the panels in place as an alternative to piling. So basically thousands of concrete footings laid into some of the best agricultural land in the country… but it’s only for 40 years 🤪

Please sign ✍️ the petition..it’s too late for me and my village…my cul de sac will be metres from a 24/7 operational, gigantic rail freight and warehouse park with no direct motorway access for the thousands of lorries generated..the noise and dust is horrendous with the construction and decimation of 420 acres of St Albans #greenbelt..it will be even worse when it’s built..@SEGROplc should not be building here, the site is totally unsuitable for a development like this…residents are trapped as unable to sell their homes..wildlife displaced except Skylarks still nesting near the construction machinery 💔

@EnviroconJo @GleadlessVTrees @NewcastleCC I saw the same with hedgehogs and rabbits when a new housing estate was built next to me - it was a pitiful sight to see. Confused and likely distressed small mammals.

Goodness! Wow! This is a backhanded compliment to our campaigning prowess. But...
1st: If only it were true that we held such influence over where and how we build houses, business premises, infrastructure, power stations. They'd be located in sustainable locations, protecting nature and for local need.
2nd: It's highly unlikely we've succeeded in strangling growth as we only formed in 2021. And we formed because so many groups across the country felt powerless to prevent adverse proposals being permitted. No veto.
Perhaps instead of erroneously blaming us, you could come and talk to us about how local groups could be brought onside.
