Please go and look at the clip of the throw in, Celtic players foots over the line, so the it is or is not handball doesn’t matter, there was a foul throw in
NO PENALTY
@ScottishFootballAssosiation?
English

@iainbroon90 Made zero difference to Motherwell’s situation, If youz win or draw youz are in Europe, if youz get beat youz are out. Would have been the exact same if it was 2-2 last night.
English

@brianrussell73 What difference did that decision make to Motherwell?
English

@Record_Sport Why 5 goals? If it finished 2-2 last night we needed 3 clear goals.

Simon Jordan reveals only one Celtic outcome can fix penalty outrage as he tells Martin O'Neill to 'cut the c***'

@Guymowbray If the ref had a good position to see it and gave the penalty would they have overturned it?
English

@pieandbov Well said, Why is there only one camera angle on a title decider match? Insane

The morning after the night before.
Firstly, it’s 2026, let’s stop using still images to try and confirm anything that happens on a football pitch. Video brings context.
Secondly, and related to point one, for fucks sake use some common sense. An image showing two balls and an English Premier League badge on the Motherwell shirt is actually being circulated by some people as “proof” of what happened 😂
Thirdly, unless you are genuinely blind, I think we can all agree on one point now. The ball absolutely DOES hit his hand, the evidence of that in slow motion and zoomed in, is absolutely clear.
Fourth, the distance on the ball is because Nicholson does indeed head it, but he heads it with his hand between his head and the ball. Again that is absolutely clear when you watch it zoomed in and in slow mo, IMO.
So, and this is only my opinion of course, the only debate to be had is about whether the hand is in an unnatural position or if his hand has ended up there because of contact from Trusty.
For me, whilst his arm isn’t making his silhouette bigger, you can’t really say it being on his forehead is a natural position 🤷♂️
Whether a nudge by Trusty pushed his arm up there is I suppose up for some debate but that’s pretty subjective, again IMO, and could be argued either way.
So, despite the initial furore, by me included, I genuinely can see why this has been given.
In terms of “the worst VAR decision of all time”it’s not even close to being as bad as either of the penalties Hearts didn’t get just three days ago at the same ground.
Most neutrals, me included, want Hearts to win the league, and that incident last night was massively disappointing, but I think we all need to calm down a bit.
What it has shown though, is that we desperately need more and better camera angles if we are stuck with VAR, and we also need much clearer and consistent decisions on handball cos we are making an absolute arse of dealing with it up here.
Some refs give what others don’t, and it’s incredibly frustrating (again see Fir Park on Sat night).
That’s my 2p worth anyway, all I know for sure is it’s a very good time to be a football forum owner 🤪

@GlasgowVotedYes Where have I said it wasnt a handball?
Not every time a ball hits a hand in the box is a penalty.
English

Muting this because I cant be bothered with the Celtic fans not understanding that the ball hitting a hand doesnt automatically make it a penalty.
For them its worth thinking whether that gets given against them at Parkhead to cost them the league, and we all know the answer.
St Johnstone Analysis@StAnalysis
I never, ever, want to read a Celtic fan ever claim they get nothing from referees on this site ever again Absolutely 0 other clubs in the country get given that as a penalty If they end up taking the title this season its because the authorities have just handed them it Wild
English

@SPost_DaveLord @Daniel_4jackson Did it hit his hand first? Doesn't matter if it landed on the moon. If it hit his hand its a pen
English

@Daniel_4jackson I more mean a still image fails to show how the ball comes firing away at pace after contact…..
English

@ScotlandSky No much point having John Robertson on the panel if he's not going to call things as he sees it. He's no there to be a Hearts fan
English

@VFTES1 @MotherwellFC I agree, We should have had another Pen, keeper should have been off too
English

@MotherwellFC I have been watching football for a very long time and I've never witnessed such a one sided refereeing performance as I did the entire game tonight

Hearts head coach Derek McInnes with some strong words on that late penalty for Celtic at Fir Park.

English

@raskinrangers72 Should go back to the third devision, try and win some trophies again
English

@mstewart_23 Should Celtic have had another penalty in the first half?
English

@Exploring_Scot @ClydeSSB Eyes of the football world on the title race. Unanimous condemnation of that penalty decision.
English

@jonnyrmcfarlane The other angle showed him slipping into Mcgregor and the ref was in a great position to see the slip
English

This might not be a pen. We don’t know. But somebody will have to explain why this was barely scrutinised by the hopeless commentary team and shown without clarity from multiple angles.
Adam Dunn@AdamDunn1872
Motherwell denied a stone wall penalty... Who would a guessed it 👀
English

Hearts deserve to win the league. But they won’t.
They’ve been cheated & shafted. The world knows. Celtic will get their tainted title, delivered via the hand of referees who have been corrupted, but everyone knows they cheated to get there.
Martin O’Neill’s respect as a football man has been tarnished beyond repair given he has happily been involved in whatever corruption has occurred to buy off the officials.
I’d rather be a Rangers, or even Hearts, fan and lose the league, than be part of that shameless corrupt cheating cabal.
We will never be like them. And be grateful for it.
English

@GrahamSpiers Hes played the long game, he knew we would really need him one day and he stood up to be counted.
