It will never not be funny to me that the one of the crews at Dover harbour called these locos "a load of old rubbish" but half the class ended up being preserved and they're almost universally loved for their charm ❤️

Strutting about, Wainwright P 31556 busies itself at Newhaven in 1955. Further adding to its comical proportions was the height of its cab roof - several inches higher than the rest of its class bar 31557. Naturally itinerant, 31556 had been loaned to the K&ESR as recent as 1947.

Tell me your Railway Series headcanons - but I want to hear ones that don't contradict anything in canon! Mine is that BoCo was away for repairs during "Thomas and the Twins", hence why he never appears and why Edward's branch was chosen for Thomas to go to. #TheRailwaySeries
